What is the speed of the memory? Also, when you say the system does not recognize it, do you mean at BIOS or after loading the OS (Operating system)? If it is the OS, which one are you using?

No jumpers or switches need to set. If your going to upgrade/change your memory, just make sure that the memory your're going to insert are compatible with your motherboard. Check the system bus of your memory slots if what are the maximum system bus can support of that motherboard. Like example; DDR PC266 to PC400 or PC400 to PC800, make sure that you are not exced the maximum requirements of the memory for your motherboard it is because they cannot recognize your memory.

GA-EP43 -UD3L motherboard will not boot with 16 GB of memory

Time to RMA, sounds like you have a faulty memory channel on the MB. Possibility the slots are not getting enough power to handle all 4, you try to see if you can increase power in bios.

Computer will not turn on.green light on but screen not lighting up.

Hello jaysmith362,
Your computer problem has 3 different cause:
1. VGA cable is not plug-in properly into the computer
2. Your System memory is not properly inserted.
3. BIOS problem

To solve your problem it.
1. Please ensure that your VGA is properly inserted into your VGA port of the computer. Or if you got an Videocard see to it that it is plug-in to your videocard.
2. You have to remove your system memory then return it properly into your memory slot.
3. Or by BIOS resetting, in your motherboard you will see an CMOS reset in it, try to remove the jumper then insert it in the other portion of it (it always has an 3 pins or 4 pins in the BIOS reset, if the BIOS jumper is located in the 1 and 2 pins try to insert it in the 3 and 4 pins). then restart your computer then turn it off after 3 seconds. Then bring it back the BIOS jumper into normal that is 1 and 2 pins.

I hope it will solve your problem
Thanks for using FIXYA...;-)

My Matsonic MS8177C will not work with 2 DDR 400 PC3200 1 GB memory. However, it works with one in either slot. It will also work with one 1gb & 1 512. Why will it not work with two 1gb?

Please refer to the motherboard manual to know the memory capacity that can be inserted in your motherboard. If you already know about it and still doesn't solve the problem then follow this steps:

1. Remove all the 1 GB memory and then clean the pins of each by using an eraser of a pencil in your motherboard.
2. Find the motherboard bios jumper settings and reset it and turn it back to normal again.(Please refer to the motherboard on how to do this.)
3. Insert again the two 1 GB memory.
4. Power on the computer.

Take note: Be sure that both 1 GB memory have the same frequencies because some memory will not work if they don't the same speed and frequency.

Hope this could help you. Don't forget to rate me please..Thanks..

COMPAQ LAPTOP MAMORY EXTEND

This laptop has 2 slots
Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700 with a maximum of 512MB per slot.
So maximum memory supported is 1GB.
If you install more memory there is a high probability it will not be recognised.

You can get more information and order memory from the link below:

Dosen't reconize 8 GB SDHC memory card

Older model printers won't recognize high-density memory cards.

2 gb is probably the largest to be used in your printer.
