WILL NOT EJECT DISC

What is the model number of your DVD player? You may try power resetting the unit and check if it helps. To power reset, turn OFF the DVD player and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray.

Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.
NOTE: This step may not apply to all models as DISC1 is not available on all DVD players.

If this does not work and if the DVD player has DISPLAY and PREV buttons, press and hold the DISPLAY+PREV buttons for two seconds to unlock the drawer.

The power button is on but I can't get it to open, any suggestions?

Hello,

If Your players power is on and refuses to open, it is either the disc tray is jammed or the mechanism is not functioning properly, what You have to do is to service the mechanism, To service the disc tray please follow the steps below:
  1. The instrument You will be needing is a screwdriver and gloves,
  2. Power off the player,
  3. Unplug it from the power outlet,
  4. Then You allow it to rest for about 6 hours, Then You put on Your gloves, and unscrew the screws around the player,
  5. Take off the players cover and check the mechanism on the left side of the player,
  6. Plug in the player then You power in on, press the open button and see if it will attempt to open, once it attempts to open,
  7. Then You apply a little force in pushing the disc tray in the direction it is supposed to open,
  8. Pull it out and in several times till it seems free and opens on its own when You press the open button,
  9. If it still does not open on its own, then it means the mechanism is bad and need to be replaced.
  10. To replace the mechanism, just carefully disconnect it and get a replacement,
  11. Reassemble the replacement into the player,
  12. Then You try to open the player, it will work this time,
  13. Reverse the process to reassemble the player back together.

Door won't open

Those kind of problems just require that the door open one time. However, to do that you will have to take the cover off the player with the power off of course. Once you have take the cover off ( only a few screws ) you will be able to see the disk player well enough to see the back part of it. There are two ways you can do this, first, is to power the player back on, press the power button on. Then when you press the open door button or use your remote whichever, have your finger on the very back end of the carriage that holds the disk and push to the front gently as it tries to open the door, you will know because you will hear a short click from a relay. If you cannot open it after a couple of tries then power it off again and unplug it. There are only four screws that hold the disc player part in itself. Take those four screw off so you can lift it far enough to get to the bottom front of the disc player. Once you can do that, without the power on, there is a white neoprene part that moves from left to right or right to left to open and close the door. You will be able to see it and you can manually slide the part to whichever side it will move and that will open the door. You can gently push the door back closed and open it again a few times. Then place the disc player back in place with the screws in and power it up and open the door with the remote or button. It should open. What happens is that depending on how long the player has set on a wharehouse shelf or just around even if it is new, the lithium grease that they use for the moving parts dries out and it needs a little push and use to work properly again. Let me know if I can help in any other way.
