Question about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Leaking water in return water cycle

My GWL11 washing machine is leaking after the first cycle of water. When it hits the second cycle it when the pump underneath drips water pretty fast. I am thinking it may be a pump seal/gasket. I am looking for an electronic version of the parts manual so I can see how all the parts are broken down. Thanks for any assistance. Kenny

HI Kenny. Now on your machine has your pump got a red or black fan on it?If it has and the iron core looks a little bit corroded I personally would change it.Also change it if you are certain the pump is leaking. The pumps do not cost too much. Now if it is the pump with the fan on it remove the wires to it and pull the plastic locking tab away from the pump and then turn it anticlockwise and remove the pump.then put the new pump in turning it clockwise until the locking tab clicks into place. then put the wires back on and test the machine. if your pump has no fan then remove the 2 bolts from the pump noting which way it goes and replace. hope this helps and if you need additional help please reply as i check my emails twice a day. by the way please turn the power off at the power point before you work on it.good luck.

Washer beeps as if unbalanced when in rince cycle and water is leaking a bit from somewhere, clothes are still damp. fisher and paykel

if it's leaking, take it somewhere to get checked, water and electronics don't end up mixing in a cheap way! the leak could be the pump or main seal. the unbalanced thing can be due to spring failure.

Water leaking out of bottom of machine when I run a load of wash.

Hi just read your posting. After the machine has finished a cycle try looking underneath the machine to see if you can isolate the place where it is leaking.Turn the power off at the wall and when you are looking under the machine use a torch to see if you can spot any water around the pump and black drain hose near the pump. The pump should have a fan attached to it.Check under the lid at the back and see if the water inlet nozzle is loose or broken. Also check where the drain hose comes out of the frame of the machine to see if the hose is split.Hope this helps and please reply for further assistance.

My GWL11 top load washer just stopped working and keeps resetting the circuit breaker. Any ideas what is wrong ? How to fix it ? Thank you.

Could be many things,is the machine leaking water on floor,if so water could be leaking onto electrical parts underneath such as the pump or through the motor. The tub seal could be leaking or the pump could be leaking.thats all i can think of given the limited information.

Leaking water in washing machine

Front loader or Top Loader? If front loader you probably put to much in and at spin cycle the tub hit the hose to the pump and possibly got knocked off?

I've got a Fisher and Paykel MW051-U washing machine. Everything seems to work fine, but after each wash cycle i notice that it is leaking water, i've tilted it and confirmed that the water is coming from...

access through the back panel to have a look at the drain pump which is likely your fault. Run a cycle and watch it when it drains you will likely see water leaking from the pump (about $25 and easy to change)

GWL11 Washer. Leaking from bottom. Doesn't appear to leak during wash cycle.

Have you checked the pump on the bottom of the washer? You may have to empty the water out of the unit by hand. Then tilt the machine backward. The pump is on the bottom and no tools are needed to remove it. If the pump is wet or rusted then that should be your problem. Another way to check the pump is to remove the 2 screw ib the back of the machine on the top, and remove the electronic controlls. inside the machine is instructions to turn the pump on.

Fisher & Paykel GWL11 Leaking water

If you cannot see the water leaking from the inlet valves, check the seal just above the water pump located directly under the drum. I am in the midst of awaiting parts to fix this very thing on my FP GWL11. This leak is dripping water directly onto the motor, causing it to trip the circuit breaker during drain/spin cycles.

Note... I have also had to have the inlet valve assembly replaced as well as it was not opening to allow cold water to mix with the hot.

Hope this helps.
