Hi,

-Plug the ethernet cable into the modem's ethernet port. (And the other end of the cable to PC)
-There should be a switch which is labeled MODEM, LINE and PHONE on it.
The main telephone line will be plugged in to the LINE port of the switch.
Another cable will be connected between MODEM labeled port on the switch and the ADSL port on the Modem.
The phone device will be plugged in the PHONE labeled port of the switch.

Hope this helps.

    Wiring the Splitter:

The splitter will typically consist of two parts, the splitter and a small outdoor housing. Mount the splitter and accompanying housing per the telco's instructions at the Network Interface Device (NID) point usually the side of your house where the phone line is located.

The wire bundle should have at least two separate wire pairs. The splitter takes one pair, and separates the signal onto two pairs. One pair in the bundle will then go to all phone jacks, and the other to the modem's DSL wall jack. So connect the incoming telco line to the LINE side of the splitter. Then wire the inside pair for your telephone to the VOICE, and your inside wire pair for the modem to DATA.

Checkstep At this point, you should be able to pull dial tone off the voice side of the splitter. If this doesn't work, then you've wired it wrong. You can also plug the modem into the test jack in the NID box (most should have this). Plug in the modem's power cord, and if the line is provisioned correctly, you should "sync" in less than a minute. This test only requires the modem.

Hello,

if you have connected it back and its still not working, then I would advice that you trace the wire/cable that came from the wall into the unit.

A cable might have been disconnected or not well fixed. You can as well remove all the connections and start reconnecting afresh. You might connect the phone first and make sure it works before you connect to others.

Troubleshoot the unit and the should should be back to life.

Take care.

Netflix without cable tv?

You'll need a broadband connection to the Internet to do Netflix. I'm assuming you currently have a bundle; Internet with your cable TV. So you can get rid of cable tv and just have Internet through the cable company or if it's available DSL via the telephone company. You could also get Internet via Satelite, but it cost more.

What wireless adaptor would you recommend for Acer Travel Mate 212TX

SETTING UP A BROADBAND CONNECTION
First you need to decide what type of broadband and Internet service you require and these are -
1. DSL that uses your existing telephone line.
2. Cable that uses a cable service and can include a cable TV service.
3. A USB wireless adapter uses the same 3G mobile/cell phone network and can be separately or combine with your cell phone account. This type of Internet connection uses a wireless device shaped like an USB memory stick.
Note - Combined services generally offer discount pricing and may include a modem/wireless router.

If you use a wireless router with a DSL or Cable Internet service then your laptop with a wireless card can then connect to the Internet. You can also connect to a free WiFi hot spots like McDonalds, Star Bucks, the Airport etc. using the wireless card in your laptop.
If you use the wireless 3G wireless broadband service, then you can access the Internet anywhere where your ISP has 3G wireless coverage. You need to check the service coverage area where you need Internet service.
Once you decide what type of broadband your require, then you need to check with the various Internet Service providers to see if they can offer and the cost of the various plans.
Note the download limits and the associated additional costs if you exceed the monthly download limits. Once you sign up with a Internet Service provider, their documentation will include setting up instructions and/or installation CD. http://www.fixya.com/support/r6165994-setting_up_broadband_connection

I have an at&t 2wire 2701hg-b but i dont have at&t internet i have charter and i am not able to figure out how to get my internet to work with this router please help

att 2 wire is a Adsl Modem (Requires a telephone line jack to get the signals) but charter communication is a cable internet service (not DSL) , Requires a TV cable service for internet .
These two jacks differs and there working differs ..
Means : Att works with the username and password type of authentication but charter requires the MAC address of modem for authentication .
Therefore for a cable internet 2wire 2701hg-b modem cant be used . But yes in case charters has username and password authentication and works with the telephone jack in house then its possible to use the same modem.

Where is the wireless switch on the dell vostro 200

Unlike notebook computers, most desktops don't come with wireless networking built in. I can't find any mention on Dell's site that the Vostro 200 has wireless capability, so this computer doesn't have a wireless switch. To use your desktop computer on a wireless network, you'll need to install a wireless adapter. USB adapters are very easy to use since you just have to plug them in. They're not expensive and you can easily find them at retail stores and online.

I can connect to the internet with my router, however periodically it will lose conection. This happens over and over again. Usually around 5-6 times during the lenghth of an average movie. I have tried...

While it's true interference could be causing the issue, there are several other possibilities.

More than likely it's not your router that's losing connection, but your actual internet connection itself. If you're using a cable or DSL service for you internet connection they may be temporarily dropping the connection. It's common in large communities, apartment complexes, etc for connections to "blink" in response to increased bandwidth loads. It's also possible that if your connection is DSL based that your telephone line is connected to a bad circuit.

I would start by watching your Cable or DSL modem and see if you notice the Internet light change status while your watching a movie (when it drops connection). If you do you, should be able to call your provider to come out for a service call.

Tv flashes/strobes

First - I did not send in my question when I realized yours was a pay-for service. No offence, but I generally try to exhaust all approaches I can do on my own before going to paid assistance. Yes, it probably takes more time - but my rate is pretty low (ha).

Anyway - what I did was turn off and unplug the TV, the DVR and the Cable box, and
let them all sit from the time I left for work in the morning until I got home that night, about 12 hours. When I plugged everything back in - cable box first, then DVR, then TV, if that matters - everything was working fine.

I am not sure what caused this problem to begin with. I don't think it was the cable company (Comcast) because when I disconnected the TV from the cable service entirely the set was still blinking on it's own. I guess it is possible that the cable co triggered something - but how? We did have a loss of service from them for Internet access the day before the TV problem, but the set didn't have any problem until the next day. My wife thinks it was because the kids were playing a Wii console game before the trouble began - but the kids play with the Wii often enough without any later problems.

So, the set is working OK again and I am not sure why - can't get any good info from Mitsu on the web ....oh well .... now if I could just get the darned remote to work.

My samsung projection tv #pcl5415r don't want to perform perfect focus adjustments

perfect focus functions are based on service mode setup...or factory settings. if the alignment of these setting are loss then the unit wont perfect focus. does the unit have a complete loss of convergence. a complete loss of convergence indicate possible failure of convergence amps.
