Question about Dishwashers

My daughter's friend bought a Ford Explorer 1997 with approx. 150k on it. After only a few months, it quit working? He replaced the battery, alternator, starter and the whole ignition switch on the steering column. I ran for 2-3 weeks and now he says "Won't do anything". No, lights, no starter noise when trying to crank, no interior lights ... nothing. He took the battery out and tried it in another car... it worked fine. Any suggestions? I'm thinking a electronic control module.

    My daughter's friend was half correct. The batttery is (1.3volts) dead (I tried jumping it 10-15 minutes). I was then able to hook up the OBD-II and found no error codes. There is NO water in the radiator. Turned the key and the starter pinion gear kicked in but nothing happened but a loud clunk. I think I need to fully charge the battery then try it again. But, I'm thinking this engine may be locked up. If a fully charged battery won't crank it I'll put a wrench on the front bolt of the crankshaft pulley and see if it turns. If it turns.. then what?

Get an auto elec. to check the main Heavy duty fuse box for any burned wires or bad connections. Possibly an alarm system that needs to be bypassed to allow starter circuit to activate.Itend to feel there is a bad connection possibly in the power side.Auto elec could be a viable help.

Hello. you may be correct about the ECM. that said, there are a number of things that it could be once any vehicle hits the 150K mark. Have you had it scanned? If you have an AAMCO repair store nearby they now scan for free. It might be worth towing it there. Also, some auto parts stores scan for free. Finally, if you have an autoelectric repair shop nearby they can do your diagnostics and pinpoint your problem. Guessing has gotten so expensive in recent years, I do not recommend it. Joe

Ford explorer 1997


First use a battery charger to charge the battery, instead of a jump start. Second, with a complete dead battery you may want to pull the connection for the horn under the hood till the battery is completely charged.

Brand makes no difference
Weight, should only be what your vehicle calls for---that should be on the oil filler cap
Nothing wrong with synthetic oils---wouldn't spend the money now,with 150K

Heater in my truck quit working


I had the same thing happen and it was the Blower motor. I went to Autozone and bought one for about 40 bucks, it was fairly easy to replace. the blower motor is under the hood

Rebuilding the transmission. That's quite a few miles on your transmission and the seals are finally letting go.

No tail lights and no interior lights, brake and hazard work


check for the complete fuse box and search for short circuits. Check the fuses and the amps of each. Did you change the battery for a new one? Did you install any device not OEM? An alarm? Check the cable system. If this is ok, scan it.
