Baxter revolving tray oven chain questions. I have a few questions below. Thank You

Slack is necessary to prevent early failure of the bearings on the wheels. It is also necessary for proper operation when the oven heats up. slack shouldn't be too much or the chain may fall off the teeth. Too tight and you have wear. The abrupt stopping indicates the need for lubrication of the motor.

Baxter ov500 keeps shutting off when turning on and eventually it will stay on

presume its an electronic gas oven.
on the main burner in the bottom of the oven (you might need a screw driver to remove the lower cover inside the oven) you will see a spark plug that makes the spark for ignition and you will see what looks like a bent bit of wire that is in the flame when its on. the bit of wire is the flame sensor. check that it is in the flame and hasn't moved. also give it a clean with a bit of fine steel wool to remove any carbon that might have built up on the flame sensor.
also here is a link to a free manual down load.

Burners will not stay on until set temperature is reached they shut off and on eratically....please help...

Have you tried cleaning your flame sensor? The little metal rod at the bottom of the burner can be removed and the metal rod that sits in the flame should be cleaned with a wire brush or emory cloth (fine sandpaper).

Uneven cooking. how to adjust vents

Bend fins outwards to decrease airflow towards center of oven, bend fins inwards to increase airflow towards center of oven. Open gaps to increase airflow to an entire tray, close gaps to reduce airflow to an entire tray.
Only make small adjustments, trial and error may be required.

My baxter rotating tray oven is not baking cookies evenly. The cookies on the outside of the cookie sheet are over-done and the cookies in the middle of the cookie sheet are not done ??

Inside your oven you have an array of louvers or fins in the back left corner and the front right corner. Sometimes a tray will jam and knock one of the louvers out of adjustment. You may need to call a local authorized service provider to come and reset your louvers to the factory settings. In the meantime you can attempt to make small adjustments to see if you can rectify the issue.

Do not ever adjust the louvers in the back left corner of the oven.
For the trays in question, to direct more air towards the center of the cookie sheet slightly bend the louvers in the front right backwards towards the rear of the oven. ONLY MAKE SLIGHT ADJUSTMENTS!! If you bend the louvers too far you will end up burning the center of the cookie sheet and under cooking the edges.

Oven shuts off by itself

When your oven reaches the desired temp. it shuts down then turns back on again after it cools down a couple of degrees and cycles like this during the complete baking cycle. If your ignitor or oven valve is getting weak it would cause this symptom.
