Question about Goodman CLQ36AR49 Air Conditioner
I year old unit. Had Heating unit replaced this year too. when heating unit was installed, they busted the air compressor. Worked for 2 months, now on 90 degree day the unit just shut down. Installer, (Team Electric says they can't tell me when they can come.) Any advice
Set your thermostat to "ON". If the system continues to shut off and resumes later then you have an electrical failure within the unit or its just cluttered with junk. Check through the vent holes visually for debri. If there is enough to cause concern, remove the nuts holding the grill above the fan once you have flipped the breaker for the unit. (you definately dont want that thing kicking on with your arm inside)
if the unit stays on then you have a bad thermostat.
also pay attention to the temp of the exterior unit, if it gets too hot to touch then that is a sign of an electrical component failure and needs to be diagnosed through more troubleshooting
