Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve. If still the issue is not resolved then remove the ice bin, Remove the wires from the auger motor. With the freezer door open and the door switch depressed, push the ice cube release and check for 120VAC between the motor wires. If there is 120VAC then the motor has gone bad. If there is no 120VAC then the control board (module time delay) has to be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Testimonial: "If water is getting to the door wouldn't the water flow have to be good? Seems like testing the water flow would be a waste of time"

You are right water is getting to the door however, it is not making ice so it could be the water inlet valve as this refrigerator uses a dual inlet valve which can go bad and cause this. Also as I said, If still the issue is not resolved then remove the ice bin, Remove the wires from the auger motor. With the freezer door open and the door switch depressed, push the ice cube release and check for 120VAC between the motor wires. If there is 120VAC then the motor has gone bad. If there is no 120VAC then the control board (module time delay) has to be replaced.

There is a dual solenoid water valve. One solenoid controls the water dispensor the other is for the ice maker. If its under warranty you should definitely have it looked at.

GE Profile refrigerator side by side, water and ice through door. Ice maker works fine, water will not shut off. Had to turn water to frig off.

The water inlet valve on the back where the water supply connects to the unit is stuck open. You may can clean the valve out and get it to closing or just replace it.

I have a GE Profile side by side fridge and need help with my icemaker. It's making great ice but seems to have to much water. Is there some way to adjust the time on for the water fill valve?

Your model has the electronic control behind the front cover and not very serviceable. The part number providing your refrigerator is the PSW26P model the ice maker part number would be WR30X10093 for that Model. You may also take into consideration that it is also a possible bad water valve on the rear leaking after shut off. That would show up as water running over the sides and the freezing and possibly freezing the fill tube in the back of the ice maker causing water to go everywhere. But most likely it is the control board inside the front of your ice maker. Thanks Sea Breeze

Ice maker bad or the ice maker water valve mounted on the same bracket as the dispenser is bad. These frigs are prone to bad ice makers after a few years.

Water line may be frozen right where it enters the ice maker. Or the water valve may not be working.
