D to A Box, with broadband passthrough no remote necessary
Looking for a D to A Box, where it passes all ATSC Channels directly through and converting them to NTSC without needing a Remote to select channel.
Want to hook it up directly to my NTSC VCR let the VCR select the channel as before and record programs. Then cable TV into VCR to watch live or recorded programs, using the TV or VCR Channel selector to select which channel I watch. Is this possible/available ? (Understood no HD)
Don't pay any attention to the "Product", I had to select something to get this question to post !

You will need a computer and an internet connection from your service provider to connect to internet. In case you are using a dial up connection, you will require your user name and password and if you are using broadband, you can connect directly to internet
You need activesync http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/activesync-download.mspx
ActiveSync’s Tools >Add/Remove Programs
screen lists all the programs that have been installed on your device.
To uninstall a program, uncheck the box next to it and click on OK. To
reinstall a program, click on the empty box next to it and click on OK.
Do not click on the Remove button.
Here's how to do it:
If you used ActiveSync to install a
third-party program to your Windows Mobile device, you can uninstall
the program quickly from your PC.
Make sure your Windows Mobile device is connected to your PC and ActiveSync is running.
the PC’s ActiveSync Window, click on Tools >Add/Remove Programs.
This opens the “Add/Remove Programs” dialog box, which displays a list
of third-party programs you have installed on your device.
To uninstall any of the checked programs, click on the box to uncheck it and hit OK—ActiveSync will do the rest.
Reinstalling programs you’ve uninstalled
Once you’ve installed a program using
ActiveSync, the necessary installation files are saved on your PC. If
you uninstall the program as described above, you can use the
Add/Remove Programs menu to reinstall it at a later time. Uninstalled
programs appear in the Add/Remove Programs list as items with unchecked
boxes. To reinstall it, click on the check box next to it and hit OK.
ActiveSync will reinstall the program automatically.
Note that files in CAB format can be
downloaded directly to a device and installed, so they will not appear
in the Add/Remove Programs list. In addition, some freeware programs
are installed by using ActiveSync’s Explorer to copy the program file
to your device. Those also do not appear in the Add/Remove list.
WARNING: Do not click on the “Remove”
button at the bottom of the Add/Remove Programs screen unless you never
again plan on using the program. This completely removes the necessary
installation files from your PC and you won’t be able to reinstall the
program by checking the box.
Call back repeatedly until you reach management personnel. The remote is their property and they are responsible for it's quality. Don't be crazy, but don;t back down. Calmly threaten a lawsuit, because if you modify their equipment on your own accord, they could sue you for tampering or something I am sure. If the office you reach is uncooperative, find the number for a different branch. I've had to do similar things with them before and the people at the branch from a different region were appalled by my local office. They connected me with regional personnel who got things in order for me right away.
Also get the operating number of the employees who blow you off.
1. Download Video Download Studio, install it.

A friend has one of these, and I'm looking in to a similar problem. It looks like video captured by the K810i is in the .mov format which is normally associated with QuickTime. There may be a converter out there that'll translate your avi into a .mov file. Possibly IrfanView will do it with the right codec plugin, or try http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/ or http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/ whose freeware product reviews well despite being in beta (the page is slow to load).
