Change the CD drive. You can find one on eBay and Google instructions to change it.

I have dell studio-15 and lately the CD/DVD drive continously ejects any CD/DVD without reading it. It cannot be read. I cannot write onto any CD/DVD either.

1. Try to boot to your computer using the Operating system disk see if the OS disk ejects try step 2

2. Try to go to the BIOS by tapping F2 upon boot see if the cd/dvd drive ejects

3. The reason for this if the problem is reoccuring outside of windows then the problem is mechanical and cd/dvd drive needs to be replaced

4. Else we need to do Operating System Reinstall or format the hard drive

When I Press Eject button the tray does not open. It is also taking too much time during booting.

Use a pin and insert in the emergency eject hole (usually in the center below the tray) and then you can eject the drive tray with force. It is time you planned for a new drive.

Untill then please insert a music CD into the drive tray and leave it there, this will ensure the eject will work (most of the time). Booting time will definitely increase if the drive has issues, reading or responding.

I've a DELLXPS M1530. I'm trying to eject a CD, wont come out

I do believe that there is still a small hole by that slot, that you can insert a straightened paper Clip into, and keep pushing until you feel/hear a slight, click, keep pushing gently and the disk should soon appear. IF you cannot do that the DVD will be removable by taking out the fasteners underneath the laptop,, and sliding the DVD out. for repair of replacement.

I have hopefully just burned my first photo CD but am unable to get the disc out of the slot. I have pressed just the eject button but don't know what else to do - and yes I AM blonde!

Hi, LOL!!

Ok, if you can't eject the disk double right click on computer, where you see you CD/DVD drive right click on the icon and select eject from the list.
If it still won't eject get yourself a large paper clip and straighten it, look very closely at the eject button on the CD/DVD drive, you will see a very small hole. Push the straightened paper clip inside that hole and manually eject the disk.
Post back if you need anymore help.

Good luck.

Hi,
did you try to do the emergency eject ?
jewellers driver in drive pinhole.
use the eject method again, Computer powered Off. Open the drawer and push it back in firmly.
This is an eject button, make/break switch problem.
Also try ejecting the drive from my computer/Right click with mouse ( CD Drive ) Eject.
And ensure the 4 Pin Molex ( Red-Black-Black-Yellow ) is the right way round. Yellow usually faces to the outside of the casing.

My dvdrom drive wont let me access the drive

ITs a dvd rom drive. It will not burn blank dvds
in order to burn, it has to cd-r/cd-rw/dvd-r/dvd-rw. If a drive cannot write to a blank disc, it will eject it. Rom drives read only (Read Only Memory), Combo drives- burn cd's only read dvd's, and super drives both read and write to cds and dvds.
