Question about eMachines ET1641-02w (PT.NA60X.001) PC Desktop
Ok I startup the computer a couple seconds later "Disk read Error press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart" appears. I opened up the computer and everything is ok. I did some research and found out that I either need to buy another Hard Drive or change some of the settings through BIOS which didnt help at all.
It is likely a bad hard drive. You can boot the system to a CD or DVD if you have a windows disk, this will somewhat check all other functions, and will not boot to the hard drive. You may have to go into the BIOS and switch the boot order to have the dvd drive before the hard drive. This may help troubleshoot. Some OS dvds will also have system diagnostics on them to help you troubleshoot, has to be a bad hard drive though. When you buy a new one, just see if you have the large cable (IDE 20-40 pin wire) or the small cable (SATA narrow 1/2" wire) going to the motherboard. Buy the corresponding drive and install. You may have to purchase windows discs from your manufacturer.
