Hello,

The water tank may be completely filled. Most dehumidifiers have a safety switch to turn the dehumidifier off when the water tank is full. It is usually a float inside the tank to trigger this switch and prevent the tank from overflowing. If the tank is empty and the unit doesn’t run, look at the inside wall against which the tank pushes to see if there’s a switch or mechanism present. Sometimes just pushing in the bucket a little differently will press the switch. Also, you may be able to activate or bend the switch slightly with your finger to solve the problem.

If the above is not the problem, check the air filter to see if it is clogged. A clogged filter may restrict the airflow through the machine and keep it from dehumidifying the room. Clean the filter with a vacuum cleanerWhen first plugged in dehumidifier power light - mag-glass_10x10.gif. If the filter is especially dirty, clean it with warm water and rinse it repeatedly. Let the filter dry and install it in the machine.

Another cause of the machine not dehumidifying a room if the defrosting device was activated. This will happen if ice starts to form on the compressor. Turn off the dehumidifier and let it sit for 30 minutes. To prevent this from occurring, raise the temperature of the room to hinder the formation of ice.

The the above does not solve the problem, then your dehumidifier is due for servicing. Contact the nearest service man to help fix the problem.

Take care.

I bought a model 365 remington dehumidifier. I plugged it in and nothing lights up. I have it plugged in for the past 8 to 10m hous and still nothing. Should i be seeing the blue light up ?

Two things that you need to check: Make sure that the outlet the dehumidifier is plugged int, is in fact working. The circuit breaker for that outlet may be tripped or there may be a loose or damaged wire connection to the one of the outlet's terminals. I assume you are turning the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON of the dehumidifier, after you plugged the unit in and set the humidity extraction level below 40%?

Empty bucket light is on and dehumidifier will not run

The float switch for the condensate reservoir (bucket) is malfunctioning.

It's sending a false signal that the bucket is full.

Maybe just stuck and needs cleaning or it may have failed.

The compressor is located in the rear bottom on the right side looking at the machine. After you press the start button and the blower fan comes on, bend over near the back of the unit and listen for the "click".
