Worked great for a week. Now it won't turn on. Occasionally turns on and freezes at the "set date and time" screen. Every once in a while actually works.

Kodak easyshare C613, purchased feb "08; got 2 yr warranty plan, called Walmart care plan they told Kodak has 1 yr warrantyso go to Kodak. I called # person gave me and after really hard time with connection to Pluto or Mars we finally communicarted this webb site.My case # is 797 934, I have tried new and recharged batteries as the writer before said it will come on sometimes and when I go to take a picture or to review it goes off and closes up. then it may be an hour before I can get it to do any thing. Even tried it in the dock on the printer and it still wouldn't work. I'm thinking I did something with the Menu by pressing the wrong buttton but man in India said that should not happen after I trun off and then turn on anew. I have had another easyshare since 2005 and it finally got broken and bought this on knowing that since I had such good luck travelling all over Europe with it that this one would be okay.....this problem has me in a quandry, we go to Yellowstone Wy on June 9thShould I go get another or can you help me with this one now?

What helped my camra to get working is to make sure you have the right battery.
the kodak easyshare takes only AA/lithium,AA/ni-mi,kaa2hr,AA/zr6 and AA/lr6 and akline too. It does not work for durecell batteries.Hope I helped!

I was told that inexpensive batteries don't last long, especially the ones that come with it. Using the video part of it will certainly take a toll.
You need to realize that every aspect of this camara works off the batteries. Even storing many pictures will trickle down the batteries as well.
Not certain on why it may not turn on. A friend of mine mentioned that if you are dragging your feet on some kinds of carpet, it somehow creates a ground and will not work. Sounds a little far fetched but who knows?

Are you using Lithium batteries?

Most Kodak models are only happy running on Lithium batteries.

I have two Kodak cameras, both had various power-related problems. Since using Lithium batts, not a single glitch.

They are more expensive, but they end up costing less compared to the amount of alkaline batts replaced.

Worth a try.
