Please help, I have a cobra PR4700 WX and I have tried everything but it will not ring or vibrate. I can still get calls and send calls but it does not give a call alert. I have followed all the instructions as I use about 10 of these at work.

I realize this is a bit late, but I have to comment. When I viewed this page there were two responses to the original query (one that I also have). It is terribly painful to have had to read them because they are both so sincere in their desire to help and so clueless in their response. The original poster asked about replacement batteries for the Cobra PR385 2-way radio. Both respondents posted about a DIFFERENT model. The first I can understand the mixup, he posted about the PR3850wx, If you don't mind the extra 0wx at the end then it is all fine. The second posted about the LI 7200 wx??? What?? Please, we all want help, but check your information before you post your response. The Cobra PR385 radios use the FA_NICD battery pack at 4.8v and 300mAh. I did just find a source for batteries if anyone is in need:http://www.tomsawyer2wayradios.com/catalog/item/3823249/4705619.htm orhttp://www.emtcompany.com/cobra-fa-nicd-two-way-radio/fanicdx.html
I have not tried either of these shops but will be ordering shortly.
Almost always, the problem here is that the micro switch for the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button has failed. Your radio should have a warranty, but even if the warranty has run out, it isn't horribly spendy to fix. I'd get in touch with Cobra Electronics, I have heard they're extremely helpful. Try this link and good luck! https://www.cobra.com/help/
Press the Mode button until the Call Setting icon flashes on the screen. The current setting ("01" vibrate + ring, "02" vibrate only or "03" ring only) will be displayed. Press the Channel Up or Channel Down button to change the call setting.
More programming details (with pics) are available in the user's manual which can be downloaded HERE
As per instructions of the manual: "...Your microTALK® radio can alert you to incoming signals by sounding an audible call tone, by vibrating silently or both. To change call settings: 1. Press the Lock/Mode button until the Call Setting icon flashes on the display. The current setting (“01” vibrate + ring, “02” vibrate only or “03” ring only) is displayed. 2. Press the Channel Up or Channel Down button to change the call setting. 3. Choose one of the following: a. Press the Lock/Mode button to enter the new setting and proceed to other functions. b. Press the Hi•Low/Enter button to enter the new setting and return to Standby mode..."
Should you need a copy of the manual, it is available here.
