Try reinstalling the software that controls the audio. You can find it on the Dell Website.

Dragon touch tablet manual How do I turn off the volume of the table dragon touch 10".

If you do not have "+" and "-" buttons on the side of your tablet, you can change the volume via the screen.

The link below is for HP tablets, but can be used with any Android 4.1 tablet:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03678318

On the Home screen, touch the "All Apps" icon, and then touch the "Settings" icon. In the Device section, touch "Sound".
Touch "Volumes" to select custom volumes for media playback, notifications, and alarms.
Touch and drag the circle along the slider to adjust the volume for each type of sound. Dragging the slider left decreases the volume, and dragging the slider right increases the volume.

I have an HP Pavilion dv 7 notebook pc. not sure why... in the middle of my screen a bar shows up with the word "volume" and a sound bar indicating that volume is twitching between 35% and 50%...

The volume slider on your laptop is failing or having problems, I have had this issue my self it is usually caused by dirt and grime, so you may want to give it a good cleaning or residual heat from the processor. I'm posting the link to an hp support thread below, with several other fixes not mentioned here. I hope I could Help.

The cursor jumps from line or field on its own...I could typing away and before I know it, the cursor has moved to another field or to the middle of another word! real pain in the ****

You will probably want to adjust the pressure sensitivity on your laptop's touch pad to alleviate this problem. If you have Windows, enter the control panel from the start menu.

1. START > Control Panel
2. Find Mouse or Pointing Devices.
3. Enter the Pointing Devices Control Panel.
Things can vary a bit in this section. So you should look for anything that deals with Pressure settings or Pointing Settings. One setting should be labeled "Touch Sensitivity." This setting controls how much pressure is required on the touch pad.
-If you move the setting lower (or move the slider to the left) this decreases the sensitivity. It is harder to accidently move the cursor if you brush the touchpad while typing.
-If you move the setting higher (or move the slider to the right) this increases the sensitivity. It is easier to accidently move the cursor if you brush the touchpad while typing.
(Note that in some configurations, these are opposite - left to increase senstivity and right to decrease sensitivity).

Depending on your laptop there may also be a setting labeled Touchpad Pressure. It's a setting that resgisters if you are accidently leaning on the touch pad. It's designed to reduce the chance of accidental clicks or motions. This setting is generally controlled the same way the Touchpad Sensitivity setting is controlled, through left-right sliders. I've found that keeping the touchpad sensitivity low makes it easier to avoid accidental cursor motions. I also keep the Pressure setting relatively high as well. One thing you'll note that if you adjust these settings to far into one extreme or the other, you will have difficulty using your touchpad. Fine tune these two setting until you achieve the results you want.

This issue could be due to corrupt Touchpad drivers or corrupt Touchpad sensitivity settings or corrupt BIOS settings. To isolate this issue, please perform the steps provided below: 1. Uninstall and reinstall touchpad driver on the notebook. 2. Decrease the Touch Sensitivity of the Touchpad. If you are using Windows Vista on your notebook then you can follow the steps listed below for decreasing the touch sensitivity of the touchpad: a. Click Start and type ?Mouse? without quotes in Search field. b. Click on Mouse from the results list. c. This will open d. Click on Tapping tab in the Mouse Properties window. e. Click the Touch Sensitivity Button to launch Touchpad settings. f. Move the slider to the desired setting (in between Light touch to Hard touch) This will adjust the Touch sensitivity of the touch pad. Now check for the issue. 3. If the issue persists, then update BIOS on your notebook. To update BIOS, go to the HP drivers download page for your notebook model and then download and install the latest available BIOS update.

Hp dv71245dx cannot remove from muted state.

hi
Go to Control panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Volume. Check that Device Volume is at least halfway across the slider and that Mute is unchecked. Go to Advanced and make sure that nothing is mute. Go to Speaker Volume and set the sliders at least halfway across the slider. Go to Advanced, and in Speakers setup choose Laptop Stereo Speakers (if that's what you have). Go to Performance and choose Restore Defaults. Click Apply > OK

plz do inform if this has sorted out the problem
all the best

Shortage?

There is a ribbon cable between the laptop & the screen. It sounds like you have a short in that cable. If you're not good with tedius electronic repairs, it would be best to have a shop repair it.
