Cannot play my ipod through my technics amp

You would need a mini jack to stereo rca wire. Insert the mini jack to your Ipod's headphones, then plug the stereo rca to your amp inputs. If it's a receiver, plug into any of the inputs (aux, tape etc) except "phono or turntable", then switch to respected input on the receiver. Be sure all volumes on both units are down during this process, then gradually turn up both volume to normal level.

What is the value of resistor R451 in Technics amplifier SU-Z25

If you are in the power supply, are you sure that one is used? 4xx series are power supply designations. Maybe numbers got transposed?
2 ways to approach it.
I am looking at an SUZ22 and an SUZ55, the power supplies are roughly the same. The closest component is R416 which is a 39 Ohm resistor. This supplies power to the flourescent display in a current limitng mode.

The alternate approach is where is it in the circuit? what is "downstream of it"?

If it was a larger 1 Watt or 2 Watt Try 1500 Ohms.

If it is the flourescent display, 39 ohms is most probable for manufacturer inventory purposes. If LCD, try 390.

If the preamp is downstream, it is not going to require a great deal of power, and you may be able to trace a parallel trace off the other channel to a corresponding resistor. If that has been tried and it just traces back to the same point, Try 1500 Ohms.

Also, there is symetry in the amplifier because it uses a split supply Vcc- and Vcc+ Not to mentione the symetry between right and left channels.

Left channel main and remote dead no sound output

That would be the most likely part to fail. Verify that the voltages to the pins are the same for the one that works and the one that does not. If the voltages are the same for both, the IC is defective. If the voltages differ, look for low valued resistors that are in series with the IC power leads and check them. These resistors act like fuses,

Keep us posted.

Technics SA-R330 recevier/amp

It seems the amplifier of your receiver is wearing out or the power. If the output of your amp usually short circuits you should conclude so.if not you should recheck the power supply whether it has a "slow short circuit" especially on the ceramics. In the meantime install a fan for cooling.
