Does the AC adapter plug wobble where it plugs into the charging jack? If so, the jack's connections have broken free from the motherboard, so you can't charge the battery or power the notebook without it. Fujitsu won't let us "common folk" have access to service manuals. I had a Fujitsu, same problem, and I couldn't make it work any less, so I winged it, and succeeded.

Expensive to have a repair shop fix. If you want to try, email me at jacobson@sonic.net. I'll tell you how I did it (Lifebook C2240). It might be similar for yours.

So how did you access the board???
Help offer through email is appreciated but the link is no longer valid. If the info. was placed here, it would have been usefull FOR EVER (as long as the site is up).

I'm using fujitsu life s series s7211 and could not start up my laptop . the fan is running, the battery icon is showing, but no screen.

Try to unplug the power from the back of the notebook and take out the battery and any other accessories. While no battery and power, press the power button for 10 seconds to drain everything inside. Plug the power back, turn it on w/o the battery. If you have a POST screen then try to go Fujitsu website to see if there's a new firmware for the notebook. If no screen then you need to take it to a tech/repair shop.

If the notebook is not working at all now, you have to test the power supply to see if it is providing enough power to run the system. I would try to put the battery back on, let it charge for at least 12 hours, then try to turn on the system with the battery still installed on the machine. That way we can eliminate whether the power supply has sufficient voltage carrying capacity to operate the system.

If that doesnt work, then its time to call Fujitsu.

There is a utility that can be found by googling that will reset the SAMS password for all users. Can't recall its exact name, but I think it runs on Linux

No power

As far as a reset button is concerned you can hold down the power button for a few seconds to turn the power off completely and then power it back up.
If your having power issues and you have a new power adapter thats known working you can try disconnecting the power take out the battery leave for a few seconds then re-insert plug in power and try again.
If this fails try starting just with battery power, if this fails try taking out the battery and attaching just the power adapter and starting up.
Also check that the battery is getting charged there should be a light on the notebook that tells wether its charging.
If this all fails you may have damaged the power adapters connection to the notebook when you bumped it. Hence the battery cannot get recharged to start up.
Let me know how you go.

Lap top - intermittent power

Hi!
Sound like a similar problem I have/had...
Mine started but always died after a period of time, and the timeframe varied. I was not sure at first that it wasn´t a heat problem, because CPU temp reports constant of 75deg celcius.
I removed the battery and at first it would not start (same as usually after it died) but after a few attempt it booted fine (also as usual). I have tried to start the laptop with the battery in place to repeat the problem but it didn´t. Battery was still not charging so I removed it again and PC is running fine since. God Luck

Fujitsu-Siemens - Batteries won't charge

Whats the spec of your power supply (approx 19v dc @ 3 - 4 Amps...)
Voltage 'OFF LOAD' is irrelevant - its the power consumption (A) that you need to validate (Do not measure directly)
Does the Laptop power up under mains feed ?
Is your concern mainly the fact that the battery(s) are not charging ?
