Question about Polaroid FLM-3232 Television
TV is about 1.5 years old, I had to unplug it to turn it off,when I plug it beck in the read off light is on.When I push the button or use the remote to turn on the light turns blue but the tv doesn't come on.
My FLM-373B was 1 year, 3 months, 26 days old when my control box went out. Which the symptoms are blue light coming on, but black screen or diagonal wavy lines in the picture which means the control box is about to go out. I finally got the number to Polaroid and called until I got help. (don't expect any help with their call center) I argued with the rep i spoke with that a $1K TV should not go out at 1 year 4 months! He agreed and sent me a new control box. The first one they sent also put wavy lines in the picture. The second one they sent me fixed the TV completely. The Control box also has a 90 day warranty. Unfortunately, if your TV is older than mine was, its unlikely they will help you. You can watch ebay for a unit, they come up regularly. You will need to know which one is the model version for your TV. Look at your serial number, the 4th and 5th characters tell you which version. If your model version is 00, 01, 02, 03, A1, 23 then the unit is: *909-KS0-GF371XAH. If it is 12, 13, A2 then the unit is: *909-TE1-GF378XCH. This info on the serial #/model version was given to me be a repair tech that had a control box for sale on ebay. I have not verified the information, nor did I have to use it, but it sounds accurate and he seemed knowledgeable. HOWEVER, you should consider carefully putting more money into a Polaroid TV. The replacement Control Box could also be defective and for the $100 or more you pay for that could have been put into a new TV. For the record, as soon as I got the TV working, I sold it. The money was a definate help on the $1200 I spent on a new 40" Sony. BTW, I made SURE I got a 2 year extended warranty for only $78 at Walmart, i suggest you do the same. Good Luck!
