Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
You could try accessing the recovery menu, then try a system restore or
another of the options on there. You should be able to format it which
should fix it, if it's just a software / firmware issue.
* Turn off ps3
* hold power button down - system will turn on and off again
* re-press button until you hear two beeps
* take finger off power button after second beep
* it'll ask you to plug your controller in with usb and press the ps button
* the recovery menu should now show up
If this doesn't work then that means the mainboard is bad and would need to be replaced.
