Hey man, use CCCP (it's actually russian for USSR, as a play on words), Combined Community Codec Pack, it can play just about anything. And it's free. Use the regular pack, not the insurgent pack. After you install it, you can go to the audio and video filter settings, and there should be a list that will show you what filter is used for what type of file. You can then right-click on one of the format names and select "set all stable formats to libavcodec" for both the audio and video settings. Then go down the list and set any disabled formats to a codec (libavcodec seems to be the most stable, but I used the one with mpeg in the name for the mpeg formats in the video list, and some can only be set to disabled). Good Luck.

P.S.: I posted a thing about the nokia 6030 security code reset on something you had done a fix for about a year ago, the IMEI is: 0112309/00/455886/3, and the code is: 0539054EQ22RM. Type: RM-225. I was hoping we might be able to trade help.

Hi,

VLC is a pretty good player.
Might want to try also GOMPlayer or KMPlayer.

If these will not work, please resubmit a description of the problem you have: what extension has the file you want to play (i.e .avi, .mpg, .flv etc) and what error message might you be getting

Convert Any Video to MP3

Use Free Video to MP3 Converter to extract audio from video files to MP3 and WAV Lossless Audio (*.avi, *mpg, *.mpg, *.mp4, *.m4v, *.mpeg, *.dvr-ms, *.wmv, *.mov, *.qt, *.amv, *.3gp, *.3g2 and *.flv).

There are 5 pre-configured presets:

For example convert avi to mp3, mp4 to mp3, wmv to mp3, etc.
Free Video to MP3 Converter automatically fills the title tag and the artwork, taking a snapshot from the middle of video, which can be seen in iTunes, Winamp or just a Windows Explorer folder.
Free Video to MP3 Converer is clearly free. No adware or spyware. It's safe to install and run.

Every time i open the GOM player it would ask for "FIND codec"

GOM Player includes many codecs (XviD, DivX, FLV1, AC3, OGG, MP4, H263) Along with different media format such as AVI, MPG, MPEG and DAT, GOM Player also supports streaming Windows media format (WMV, ASF, ASX).

Possible Reason:

* Ensure that you have downloaded a genuine version and not a broken file, which is likely to miss some codecs, GOM is a FREE media player with popular audio & video codecs built-in. So you won't need to install separate codecs for most videos. For those videos that require a separate codec, GOM Player will find one.

* Without the appropriate codec, you'll be prohibited from playing AV files/the codec for which the file you are playing is missing (playback error), which prompts you to "Find Codec" screen. In the case you need other codecs, the 'Find Codec' popup will assist you in searching for the correct codec to play your file. If you didn't find any: first reason is likely to be the issue.

Fixes:

*Search Result will be shown on a new internet page. Once youve found it, simply download and install to watch the AV files.

Is there an instruction manual which will tell me why I get a red triangle with!which says this video cannot be played?on adobe media player?

To know about file formats support by Adobe Media Player, open this link.

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AdobeMediaPlayer/1.7/Using/adobemediaplayer_1.7_help.pdf

You can have a research in Google Website about the various types of songs, audio clips or just simple as a sound file. And to know what program or software that support that file type.

In windows media player (all windows operating system has a Windows Media Player built in) basically can played standard audio and video formats like shown here:

http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00418.htm

And here are some glossary of file formats and how they differ from each other.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-UoHVJFRE5Ps/learn/learningcenter/home/fileformats_glossary.html

For example you want to play a mp4 video file to your computer. First you should a video codec that will support the mp4 video file, like this one:

http://www.mediacodec.org/WECPSetup.exe

Copy this url to your browser to download this file.
Then proceed to installation.

1. Double click the download file
2. Click Next twice
3. Click Install
4. Allow to run update
5. Then Finish

Then you'll see the mp4 file will be played in Media Player

I have prepared a home movie on Windows Movie Maker and when I copied it to a DVD it would not play on a dvd player can anyone tell me what I did wrong please thanks joe

The reason why the DVD disk you created may not contain the file format the DVD player recognizes. On a normal DVD disk there are two folders - AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders. The video files are located in the VIDEO_TS folder. This video folder contains the VTS_xxx.vob video files (the video files has a .vob extension).
The video file you created may have a avi or wmv or mov or mpg extension, whilst these video files can be played on a computer but they won't play on a DVD player.
Check the movie software you are using and make sure it creates the correct file format for a DVD player.

Fixya email logo greyed out??

I've noticed the same problem myself. I log in through Windows Live Mail and on most emails I have to mark them as safe in order to use the hyperlinks. Well Ive marked the ones from fixya as safe and I still can't use the hyperlinks. I too have to take the long way around.
