No you don't have to cut into it. Might be to late now but this is how you take it apart. 710 is the same way

1- Remove the front film. This is held on with 3m double sided tape. So it will be stiff and you will have to work at it for a little while.
2- Once the front cover is off you will see the retaining bezel under this. There are about 8-12 screws running around the outside of this. All of these screws must come out. Don't lose them since you will need them to put the unit back together again.
3- Once you have all these screws out a small flat screwdriver can be worked under the edge to begin separating the retaining cover from the unit. Patience and time are your friends. Impatience means new unit.
4- Once you remove the retainer you will have access to the insides of the unit. Reassembly is the reverse order

There are 4 screws:

1. Remove front bezel
2. unscrew 4 small screws (1 hole has anti tamper tape over)
3. remove "dome" rear of unit.
4. Remove 2 screws holding speaker in
5. Carefully remove all metal tape covering electronics
6. Remove 4 small screws securing PCB to unit
7. Remove 2 screws holding black plastic battery clip
8. Unplug small battery connector from PCB board.
9. remove battery and insert new one

Cant get subwoffer apart took out 2 screws and moved lach other side still wont come off Help???

After you swivel the center latch, press down on the two plastic latches on either end (in the same crack) with a flat head screwdriver. Make sure you remove the knobs used to adjust the base and LFE levels. Now you can push the plastic cover back about a 1/4 inch and then lift it off (I used a flat head screw drive to pop it off - took some effort). Inside, remove the 2 phillips screws from the top of the green circuit board, unplug the board, and push the 4 plastic holders out of the way so you can flip the board over. Replace the 3 amp, 250 volt fuse.

I haven't tried putting mine back together again yet. I'm off to Radio Shack...

Touch screen stop working

Omnitech GPS systems are very decent for me. I have 2.
There were several reports of GPS problems beginning on or about 11-14 June 2009. This is due to the GPS navigation messages rollover from 255 to 0. Some GPS systems fail to accommodate this behavior; Omnitech is one of them.
Staples did provide a firmware update a few days later. There are also other firmware updates available on the net. I personally successfully update the firmware and resolve the problem around June 15, 2009.
Otherwise, the problem should go away after 1-2 weeks.

Daewoo DP-4100P

I removed the outer casing - 4 Screws. 1 at each side near the front and 2 in the back of the unit.
Then removed DVD top cover - 4 Screws, there are only 4 screws holding the cover down. (carefull not to drop them inside the rcorder).
Then lited out the DVD.
Took no mre than 10-mins.
