Question about Cell Phones

1 Answer

We have a triple handset Philips telephone model CD 235 installation. 2 of the hand sets are working O.K. The third one is "locked" somehow with the message "searching" displayed and the "Y" "handset linked to base station" icon/indicator flashing. There is nothing on "touble shooting" - page 36 of user manual about this fault. How do I release it back to normal functioning, Please? E-m as above but possibly better on telephone 0113 250 2133 Robert Ibberson Leeds LS19 6QJ

By referring to a "cell phone" , that sugests you think the problem is with what I call a "mobile" phone, burt Americans call a "cell" phone. and the Germans call a "Handy".

Before we use up any more of each other's time, can you confirm you are talking about a proprietry branded (Phillips) land line connected installation.

I have a CS60 Handset doesnt work when the headset is connected

First setup the headset as follows:

  • Locate the 2 ports on the bottom of the CS60 charging base. One has an icon of a "full telephone" and the other has an icon of a "hand receiver."
  • Unplug the hand receiver from the base of your existing telephone and plug it into the "hand receiver" port on the CS60 base unit.
  • Then take the short cable that came with the CS60 and plug it into the "full telephone" port on the base of the CS60.
  • Plug the other end of the short cord into the hand receiver port of your telephone (where the hand receiver just was).
  • Make sure the AC Power is plugged into the wall, and then you can adjust the configuration settings.
To be able to hear or speak through the handset, either place the headset back into its charging cradle or press the call control button on the side of the headset. The talk indicator light on the base should go off and no sound will come through the headset.

Note: Make sure that the cables are connected correctly and the handset cable is connected to the base of the CS60 base.

Vtech M6896 phones do not work

Step 1: Press and hold FIND HANDSET on the main telephone base for 10 seconds.

Step 2: When the IN USE light starts to flash, release the FIND HANDSET button.

Step 3: Press and release FIND HANDSET again. The IN USE light will turn off and in a few seconds, all handsets will be de-registered.

Step 4: All handsets will show NOT REGISTERED.

To register a handset (register 1 handset at a time):
Step 1: Place the handset in the base unit or a charger that is connected to a power outlet. If PRESS FIND HNDST 4 SEC ON BASE does not appear on the screen after a few seconds, lift up handset and place in base or charger again.

Step 2: On the telephone base, press and hold FIND HANDSET for four seconds. Release FIND HANDSET once the IN USE light comes on.

After a while the handset will emit a series of tones, the newly registered handset will be assigned the lowest extension number not previously assigned to another system handset (1-4) when successfully registered. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 if the handset does not successfully register to the telephone base within two minutes.

Caller ID Problem on the GE2811 Twin cordless phone system

How to get the caller ID to work on the additional GE DECT phone handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order :
#1 - unplug the base phone
#2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone
#3 - remove the battery packs from the phones
#4 - wait 10 minutes. reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in.
It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phone handsets start recognizing caller ID.
