Wii went dead after power surge

Hi,

Please visit the site HERE it.You will find a solution to your problem.

I would also suggest holding the power button on the Wii Remote itself to turn it on, or unplug your Wii Console's power cable and audio/video cable for 90 seconds. Then plug power in first, then AV cable.

The game has no power but before we bring it back we would like to get the game out

It's likely not the Wii, it's the most likely the AC adapter. It needs to be reset. This is a COMMON issue after a power blip, surge, or outage (or it is way unplugged abruptly, or countless other things). If the below works, there no need to reutn the Wii. It's a common issue, the AC adapter just needs to be reset.

Considering how often I see this problem, I'm amazed Nintendo didn't address it in their FAQ on the Wii.

This is a common problem with the Wii. As I mentioned above, I'm very surprised Nintendo didn't cover this in the owners manual FAQ, considering it happens almost every time there is a power surge or the power goes out, etc. Even if it's hooked up to a surge protector, this happens. The power comes back on, but the Wii appears dead.

It won't turn on, and the LED indicators won't light. If there was a power surge, or the power went out,etc...anything, this will happen. The problem is with the AC adapter,not the Wii itself.

You need to reset the AC adapter to get the Wii to work again. There is a circuit inside the AC adapter that needs to be reset. Unplug the AC adapter from the wall/surge protector outlet. Don't unlpug it from the Wii, it has to be at the outlet. You have to kill power to the adapter.

Unlpug it from the wall/surge protector outlet, and leave it unplugged for 5 or 10minutes. This will kill power to the AC adapter, and give the circuit time to reset. When you plug the adapter back into the outlet after 10 minutes, the red led on the front should be lit up.

We had a storm and now the wii will not even turn on.

Was the Wii running while the storm was going on? Was it a lightning storm? If the answer is yes to eaither one of these then most likely there was a power surge and the power supply and / or motherboard has been damaged

Storm last night, now Wii won't power up

Unplug everything! There is a "breaker" in the power supply and it may need to be reset. Just unplug all cables from the TV and outlets. Let it sit for a couple hours then plug everything back in and it should work fine. If not then the power supply has shorted out due to a strong power surge. You can claim it under your home owners insurance or call Nintendo and try to get it replaced. Thanks! Good luck and happy gaming!!

Someone please help

Good Day;

Two things normally happens after a L storm:1.) One must unplug TV for 5 minutes, then plug back in. 2.) Main glass fuse out, will be near a/c cord. 3.( Power regulator IC may be out. Try these first.

Good Luck!
