I have just bought a Sunbeam rice cooker and and after the first try there was brown crust at the bottom of the rice! is this normal? Thanks Austin

Some rice cookers will do this. There is also the chance that you did not put enough water in. Maybe smear a bit of oil on base before using.

All you have to do is pour white vinegar in the bottom, leave for about 2 hours and rinse and wipe clean!

Some one gave me a new rice cooker but the instruction manual was missing how to use it. its a sunbeam-oster model 4713/0

you add 2cups medium grain rice and three cups water ( yields about 6 cups cooked rice) you should have a lever Cook/ done push lever down and it will come back up when the rice if done, allow about 4-5 min to let it finish steaming

I forgot how to use my Sunbeam 4713/5710 rice cooker

Not familiar with this particular model, but most rice cookers use basket for steaming vegies, not rice. Leave basket out and you should get cooked rice!!
Also:Put butter, oil, or margarine in with rice, or spray pan with PAM when dry and empty to avoid sticking problems. Enjoy!

Sunbeam 4710 steamer

The most likely reason they don't fit together perfectly right is because, when I bought the Sunbeam Instant Steamer Model 4710, it only came with 1 steaming tray.
