I have a CDJ1000 which I may have fixed finally. The N15 (0.65) fuse on this kept blowing, and I tried replacing it with a slight higher value (0.8 A), but it blows before a couple of days go by. I think the real reason is that there is a plastic tab on the laser transport assembly which is supposed to trip a switch as it gets to the end, but because of wear and tear no longer works. This causes the motor to overshoot and overload and trip the fuse. I seem to have fixed it by adding a piece of heat shrink tubing to this plastic tab and replacing the fuse. Now it seems to be working fine.

Thanks. This was very useful and helped me locate the IC N15. After replacing it my problem was solved!

There may be a short somewhere inside that's causing it to draw too much power. If many other people are experiencing the same problem, then it may be a design flaw (like the original Xbox 360s).
As I always say, if it's under warranty/exchange, then just go that route by calling the manufacturer (for warranty) or just exchange it at the store you purchased it from.
If you're a gambling man, or find and understand the schematics, you could try stepping up the fuse to a slightly higher value. This isn't something you should seriously consider unless ALL other avenues have failed, as the fuse blows to protect the rest of the circuit from essentially melting down.

The power supply most likely needs replacing. This will require the services of an electronics technician. To truly find out what is causing the excessive pull on power, you'll need several pieces of electronic test gear that is not normally available in the average household. If you want to investigate to see if it is something simple, you'll need to disassemble the unit and look to see if there are any foreign objects that are possibly shorting any of the internal circuits. Beyond that will require test equipment.

My pioneer cdj 1000 wonpt power up

You will have to take it apart in order to get to the power supply board inside. See if the fuse is blown...if it is replace it with one of the same type and rating...If it is not, then check to see if the switch is working ok...If you do not know anything about electronics don't try to repair it yourself...get a qualified service technican to do it for you...You could also have something shorted on one of your other ckt boards that could be dragging down the power supply...and would make it look like it has no power...

The TV won't turn on. It is plugged in, but won't turn on at all. Is it fused?

It has a fuse and if the power light comes on and blinks a specific code that would be a error code.

This set weighs close to two hundred pounds, follow the power cord inside the set as it goes almost directly to the fuse which should be a 6.3 amp fuse----careful if its bad, it is a slow blow and special, a Radio Shack or Generic one the same amperage and type will blow for no reason, if its bad don't keep feeding it fuses.

My inverter keep blowing 40 amp fuses without load

Hi Trevor,
A 1000W can barely supply 5A at 220V, less than 10A at 110V. So if a 40A fuse blows, there is a serious problem and you should not attempt to use this unit after it has been checked by a qualified person. Please be careful!

Good luck!

Hi there, i have a 1991 Izuzu mu, 2.8 turbo. Everytime i turn the key on the glowlight or glowplug fuse keeps blowing. Its on the inside of the car not the bigger one under the bonnet?

There will be a relay that switches the power to the glowplugs on and off, probably mounted in the fuse/relay box near the big fuse under the bonnet. Check this relay and associated wiring for a short circuit to ground

I just got a cdj 1000 mk2! when i put in the cd, the cdj turns off and on and off and keeps this cycle going until i eject the cd. If i don't put in any cd, it's fine. but as soon as i put in a cd it...

I'm having the same problem. Just started like 2 weeks ago. I've had my MK2s since March.

I tried switching AC Power cables, it seemed to help, I have new cables on the way but I don't think that's the solution. I've read that the MK3s are having a similar problem, related to a fuse.

Yes, fuse may be blown, first check out the fuse of CDJ,
if it does not work. Install a physical 120v American transformer
also change the switch of 240v to 120v from back of CDJ

thx,

B;owing fuses, wont power up, just smokes

Hi,

Try checking the reverse protection diode. This diode would normally be connected right after the power connector and would be the biggest diode inside. One way to verify if this is defective and causing the fuse to blow is even with the power switch at the OFF position, the fuse will still blow.

If on the other hand, the reverse protection diode is good and fuse will not blow when power switch is at OFF, then the short/defective component is inside. There would only be two (2) major components that can cause the fuse to blow with the power switch to ON, the final transistor and/or the audio IC.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
