Question about Nextar MA933A MP3 Player

Windows Vista and Nextar MA933A MP3 Player

I have contacted the support for Nextar and I am going around in circles with them. I have Windows Vista and I am trying to add files to my player. They told me it should work with my system. I plug it in to the USB port and the computer comes up and calls it the audio player and does not give it a drive letter like Nextar told me it would. Therefore their directions to either copy and paste to the drive or drag and drop the files to the player does not work. The paste function is greyed out when I click on the player so that does not work and the drag and drop like they instructed me to do does not work because I get the circle with the line inside symbol when I try to drag the files to the player. They are not paying attention to the fact that it does not call it- say for example- Drive X or external whatever. It only calls it Audio player but I cannot even drag or copy and paste regular files to it either not just music. I am not totally computer illiterate so I can follow instructions but what they are saying to do is not an option. Why is it only calling it an audio player instead of a certain drive letter for example? Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Thanks. I tried that and in Media Player I can put files on the player that way only. I do not however have any Itunes or other software like that on my computer. But what if I only want to add some data files instead of music how would I do that? This can be used as a flash drive as well but the only option is now to add music files the way you said. Any ideas how to do that?

Try opening Windows Media player and see if your unit is recognized there. If it is, just use the drag and drop from your playlists to synchronize your player. If that doesn't work, right click on the Computer icon in the start menu and choose manage. You'll want to go to the removable media section. There are some settings in there that might make it work the way Nextar expects it to. My hunch is that there is some sort of synchronizing software installed (i-Tunes possibly, or something like that) that is taking control of the unit instead of Windows and thus only making it useable through synchronization instead of like a drive being attached.

Sometimes the disk management is confused or gets corrupted with the drives it has assigned. I suggest trying the following. Make sure your Nextar is connected so that it will show up in the device manager (the computer does recognize the device since it works in medial payer, so communications is not the issue).

    1. In device manager uninstall the device.
    2. shutdown and disconnect the device and reboot.
    3. shutdown again and restart.

    4. reconnect the device, let it reinstall and see if it shows up.

I have the nextar MA933A MP3 Player. Windows 7 doesn't read it right. I have music on it but win7 says the folder is empty

Here is one possible solution:

Take this Nextar piece of cr*p, and give it back to the retailer, wish them luck, and buy and Ipod. The Nextar MA933A is no more than a $12.99 paperweight, if you got ripped off like I did. The nextar website has not posted any support for this problematic junk, except for a Windows 98 driver, like anyone has that anymore. I think their servers are still on Windows 3.1, which is all they can afford, since they most certainly could not pay their research and development department enough to produce a quality product. CHEERS! :)

Nextar MA933A MP3 Player ?

you can download the driver @ nextar.com for Nextar MA933A. However it seems you only need the driver for it if you are using windows 98 or windows 200 prior to SP3. At the link above you can also download the manual, and read the FAQ section.

hope this helps.

Can't load songs on nextar mp3 1 GB ma933a- 1p

There are several possibilities:
1) The songs you are trying to load to the Mp3 player are not compatible with the Nextar - a good test for this would be to connect your Nextar to the PC, open Windows Media Player, and click the Library tab, then the Sync tab - if a little blue "i" appears next to the song, it will not work with your Nextar. In fact, any song that is not in mp3 format or unprotected WMA (very few WMA's are unprotected unless you Ripped them directly from CD) will not play in the Nextar.
2) You have the Hold switch engaged - unlock it
3) The PC's you are trying to connect it to are running Windows Vista - not compatible with Nextar
