Question about Ricoh Aficio CL7000 Laser Printer

My Ricoh CL7000 multi-function printer/copier/... reports an SC545 error. The unit will not proceed until error is corrected. Seems to be a fuser unit related issue - will replacing the fuser unit correct and reset error?

My Ricoh CL7100 Printer/copier/... unit is showing an SC545 error message. I can't clear this message so unit is completely down. From brief review - it looks as though this error is fuser unit related though I can't say that with certainty. Can you verify the error is related to the fuser unit and if so, is replacing the fuser unit with a Ricoh Fuser Unit kit likely to solve this error.

When you get this copier printer service code it means the fuser or fixing assembly (same part) has thermistor problem. The copier fuser’s thermistors help regulate the temperature of the fuser assembly. The fuser assembly is the part that melts the toner onto the page.

Try this:-

1.- Turn Off the printer.
2.- Press "ONLINE and SCAPE" buttons..
3.- without stopping pressing them (ONLINE and SCAPE) TURN ON THE PRINTER.. and wait about 10-15 seconds and Service menu show up.. after this.. release the buttons...
4.- Go to.. Engine Maintenance... Enter..
5.- Search for SP5810 (Fusing err clr) and Enter.
6.- Accept the change and enter
7.- Turn off the printer
8.- Finally turn on the printer and try to print something

If this does not solve your problem, you will need to take your device to Ricoh service center for repair.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Good Luck and have a nice day.

    Good Morning

Thanks for your insight on the fuser unit. re: your suggestion for reseting the machine, my unit is a multi-function unit. The operator control pamel on the printer itself is essentially non-functional - instead, the functions of the control panel you mentioned are performed on a supplemental panel that's integrated with the unit's scanner. Do you have any insights on the controls I should use on that panel to reset the unit.

Turn off your printer. Remove all connections and all the components (drivers) of your printer from your computer. Turn off your computer. Now after some time 1-2 hours later, turn it opn, reinstall all the components and now connect your printer.

If you are sure that it is a Fuser related issue. Then replcing the whole unit will most probably solve your problem. Also try to remove and re insert your current fuser unit and check it out. their is always a slim chance that it may work for some time again.

The SC545 error stands for "Fuser overheat error", "Fuser ready temperature abnormal" and "Hot roller ready temperature abnormal". so surely your fuser is faulty and as i said replacing it will solve your problem.

How do I top up the fuser oil on a Ricoh CL7000 printer does not seem to be anything in the maintenance manual

You don't. The Type 7000G Maintenence Kit is the self contained oiler unit, rated for approximately 30,000 prints on 8 1/2" x 11" stock. If a person were to try to "top off" the oil, where would said person locate the correct type of fuser oil. Not all fuser oil is the same, viscousity wise as well as chemical composition. What an expensive mess.

CL7000 Replace fuser unit type G error

Run SP7-804-9
If you don't know how, or what that is, then you'd better call a service depot.
I will not post or discuss service mode procedures with end users, because you can create a great deal of problems if you're unsure what you are doing. (No offence)

Error code sc545

That's a fuser warm up error. Likely either a blown fuse, lamp or thermistor. Fuser is usually replaced as an assembly, and code can only be reset in "service mode" after the cause is fixed.
