Question about Computers & Internet

Hi, LCD Projector: Hitachi CP-RS55. I pulled out the cable between the laptop and projector BEFORE the laptop had finished powering down. Projector lost power immediately and there was a slight - not loud - sound (possibly the lamp). Unable to power up the projector since. Have changed the plug fuse and removed the lamp, which isn't shattered - just can't tell if it's working. If the lamp has gone, would that prevent the projector powering up or is the problem likely to be more serious. Thanks Dave

I've removed and examined the lamp and can't see any damage to it or its cover. I've also tried pushing the reset button on the back of the projector, as per instruction manual (when all else fails). There may be lamp damage - I'm not an expert eye - but am I better to replace the lamp (expensive) or send the projector for repair ... or is there anything else I should check ? Thanks again

Hello. Actually, the reason your bulb blew was most likely that you jarred it a wee bit while it was very, very hot. Replace the bulb and you should be able to power up again. J.

Hi,

Yes a burnt out lamp or lamp cover will prevent the projector from powering up. Check to make sure the unit is properly plugged in. Also check to make sure the lamp has not burned out and the lamp cover is properly attached. A burned out lamp or a lamp cover that isn't properly attached will prevent the projector from powering up.

Let us know if you want something more else please accept the solution.

I have a Hitachi LCD projector model No. CP-RX70. When I connect with my laptop (Compaque) and start both then only starting window XP message appears through projector and laptop works normally but again...

The setup is not correct. Check the requirements of the projector, (size, refresh rates etc.) and set the laptop up accordingly.
You will se the XP Screen because the laptop hasn't loaded any drivers yet and the screen is low resolution.
Hope that helps.

I can't get my laptop to appear on the Hitachi CPRS55 projector

Hello.

Look at your laptop keys and be certain that Fn + F8 is the right combination. Could be Fn + F4, depending on your laptop.

If the key combination is OK, your VGA cable (from the projector to the laptop) could be faulty.

Hope this helps.

Problem with hitachi cp-RS55 multimedia projector sir

There is a menu item which has both the lamp hour reset and check air flow, etc. You must go into the menu and reset the air flow item. MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN THE DUST FILTER!! Heat is the number one killer of projectors and Hitachi's run "hot". I clean my projector once a week--Hey, I'm not rich. lol! Also, excessive heat will cause the lcd panels to fail prematurely and cause lots of other components to do the same.--Rick

Hi there

If the unit is brand new , they should replace it under warranty.

This is most probably a faulty Powersupply / Fanboard !
