Question about Televison & Video
If the TV stays in standby, then it is not locked, but probably faulty. The standby is forced because a fault had been detected.
When picture is in lock mode, channel may not be displayed, but on screen display and functions will work. A lock sign will be displayed on screen.
In that case you need the original remote to unlock the TV.
You have to get in the password entry screen, then press the following buttons on the remote, one at a time.: Mute, Display,Clear and Reset, this unlocks parental controls and you can re-enter a new password.
On some model you press and hold Menu on the TV AND volume down on the remote for 3 or 5 seconds. TV will reset, Parental Controls will unlock, and you can re-enter a new password.
In your case the TV is not locked, but in protect mode, because a fault had been detected.
If the TV went in standby and does not wake up, then the TV is in protect mode.
In protect mode higher voltages from PSU gets shut down and TV remains in standby.(see also Why my TV does not start up and remains in...)
Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so. Then connect powr
If that does not work, and you keep having the TV in protect mode, it means that there is a fault.
In that case call the phone support number listed on the user manual to arrange repair.
