The Stereo Audio/Video Cable that is included with the Nintendo 64 will allow you to connect the Control Deck to most televisions or video cassette recorders (VCR). First, look at the back of your television AND your VCR and see if you have Audio/Video inputs . Though your TV may not have them, almost all VCRs do.

If you DO have AV inputs, choose where you want to connect to:

Audio/Video Cable to a TV
Audio/Video Cable to a VCR

If you do NOT have AV inputs, you will need to use an RF Switch and RF Modulator for your hookup. The RF Switch and Modulator are sold separately. (Where to buy):

Nintendo 64 Power Problems

Make sure you are using a licensed AC Adapter (the system's power cord). The name Nintendo should be molded into the actual AC Adapter unit. Unlicensed products are not fully compatible with Nintendo systems and may not work correctly. Also ensure all accessories connected to your system are licensed as well. (Expansion Pak, Controllers, Rumble Pak and Controller Pak.)

Make sure you are not using any game enhancing devices. Such devices are unlicensed and are not recommended by Nintendo, as they may not let your system function properly.

Firmly plug the AC Adapter into the AC Power Supply port on the back of the Control Deck and firmly plug the AC Adapter into the wall outlet.

Make sure your wall outlet works. To check it, try plugging a lamp into the same outlet where your system was plugged in. Turn the lamp on the verify the outlet works. Also, make sure you are not using an outlet that is operated from a wall switch. If you do, make sure the wall switch is in the ON position.

Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the ON position.

If it still does not work, you'll need to RESET the AC Adapter. To do this, remove all the accessories (including the Game Pak and all controllers) from the deck. Unplug the power supply from the wall outlet for at least 30 seconds, then plug it back in. If your system works without the Game Pak and controllers plugged in, there may be something defective with either the Game Pak or one of the accessories. Turn the power off and plug ONE accessory into your system, then turn the system on to see if it still works. Repeat this process with ONE accessory at a time to see if you can figure out which accessory may be in need of repair.

Well its an internal problem with the console like the controller port might be broken or the motherboard of the console is messed up and needs to be fixed.

As with many other problems like this, check the input cable. it could be busted, and need to be replaced. Clean the contacts in the control deck, and in the cartridges.
