Lexmark c530dn wont print

My c530dn (Lexmark) flushes the buffer and doesnt print the job. the whole process is normal till then... hit print:chose options in print dialog:job spools:job shows up in queue: at the time the printer normally would spin up and print, it says "Flushing Buffer" on the printer LCD and then goes back to Ready status while the job exits the queue as if it was completed.
Equipment- Mac 10.4.11 on a Power Mac running InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat (all 3 tried w same result). Server side queue on XServe G5 running Mac Server 10.4.11 (same setup works fine with Xante, Epson, and Okidata printers). Lexmark c530dn is standard issue w 128mg of RAM connected via gigabit switch to all.

Disconnect this printer from your gigabit switch and try running it by itself. this printer should have its own on board memory. you may have uncompatible memories.

Lexmark C530dn won't print with only black cartridge--it used to do this beautifully. I saw a post on this, but their solution didn't work.

I suspect it is because the print buffer in the printer is not being flushed properly and the document is sort of getting hung in limbo between the computer and printer.
the only way to clear cue is either re-start, disconnect the printer from the computer, or turn the printer off. Sometimes you may need to unplug it as well.

Lexmark E 250 dn printer. Keeps turning off. Switching from blue bulb indicator to exclamation point indiator. Difficult to turn back on by pressing blue arrow button

Hi,
The problem could be several things, the first one could be a Flushing buffer error. That means that the printer did not understand the print job sent to it and has to be reset in order to continue printing. Second could be a memory full error where the print job sent to the printer is too big and the printer memory is not enough. The third could be the printer front door is not closing properly, make sure the toner cartridge is installed correctly and that the front door is closed. That's all I can think of right now.

The Lexmark c530dn prints fine. Smudging down both sides.

Hello,

Your problem is caused by 2 worn photoconductor units. If you open the front door like you are changing toner, the photoconductor units will be mounted to the door that swings down. You will see should see four units one for each color, red, blue, yellow and black. If you look at the red and black units the ends will look different than the blue and yellow. The photo units have teflon coating that wears off and causes your proble. The replacement part number is C53030x and you will need 2 of them. Just replace the red and black ones and your printer will be back to normal. If you can't locate them locally, let me know and we can ship them to you.

I have been printing chapters in a book. One chapter will not print. The message on the Lexmark screen is "flushing buffer". does anyone know what this means or why it will not print?

The 'flushing buffer' is most likely due to a corrupt file or file to large for the printer memory. You can check the file size and reduce it. Also you might want to upgrade your memory for the printer. Also might want to check your printer settings if the page you are having trouble printing is different from the other pages printed, such as text & graphics, etc. There is also a possibly of print program incompatibility or Windows OS Patch required but I doubt this since you have printed other pages without any problem. What does "flushing buffer" mean

No response from the original poster as of 6/6/09. Normally, a "Flushing Buffer" message is pointing at a Postscript problem. A quick easy test would be to set the printer for PCL and retry the job. If it works, then you really need to look at the PS print file to find the error. Don

The printer can't handle the data it received and flush it out of its buffer. Goto Menu->Settings->Postscript Settings and turn "Print PostScript Erro" on. When the same print job prints, you should get a page printed out telling you what the printer doesn't like. You may also want to try forcing the printer into Postscript mode. Your PS file probably contains a PJL to set the device to PS mode before it prints. When the printer expects PCL data and received PS data(or vise versa), you can get this behaviour
