Things You'll Need: Projector TV Cable box, VCR, DVR or satellite receiver S-video cable Analog A/V cables
Steps to follow: step 1
Turn off all of your equipment before you begin. You run the risk of shorting something out and possibly receiving a nasty electrical shock if you attempt this while one of the components is still on.
Step 2
Check the back of your television, VCR, cable box, or satellite receiver. You should see a series of plugs labeled under the "Video Output" feature. The plugs will likely come in rows of three: one yellow, one red and one white. In some cases, you may see a circular black plug labeled "S-video." Connect the projector to any one of them.
Step 3
Connect a set of analog A/V cables into the appropriate color-coded plugs on the back of the TV, VCR, cable box, or satellite receiver. For example, plug the yellow cable into the yellow plug, the red cable into the red plug and the white cable into the white plug. If you're using an S-video plug, simply plug it into the S-video outlet.
Step 4
Connect the other end of the cables to the ports labeled "Composite" or "Input" on the back of your projector. The exact label may vary. However, the analog A/V ports will be color coded just like the ones on the back of the TV, while the S-video plug will be clearly labeled as such.
Step5
Turn on the projector and then turn on the TV, VCR, cable box or satellite box. The image should now be running through your projector, allowing you to watch TV on it.

How do I get sky from my set top box to work in a different room, I am trying to get my sky to work on a TV in a different room ? I have wired up TV coax cable from my sky box in sitting room and run

Hi Jim,
Here In my place in India, you can attach only one tv to the sky set top box. That too with AV cables. The program or channel changing is done by box only. The tv works as a monitor and has no role in program selection. You can attach a second tv to the box not through antenna cable but through AV cables only. That too if the box is having second set of output sockets. In that case both the TVs will receive the same programmes. To watch different programmes on the second tv you will have to go for an additional box.

Sky wired up by a basic splitter in loft want to use red eye.

Your vocabulary is not helping I will make some assumptions.
1 you have an antenna setup and want to have three tvs use it.
2 I don't know what sky is so I am going to ignore it.

from the antenna you will run a short length of rfcoaxial to a splitter\booster witch is powered this will allow you to split the signal to 4 or two or three tvs your choice. all tvs will need coax or rf cable run to them and btw 300 ohm cable is not called rf
coaxial cable is preferred because of its signal insulating properties and its longer life expectancy and all tvs today have coaxial inputs on them not 300 ohm.

Panasonic TX P50V10B Plasma TV

In order to get any of the Freesat channels, you need to connect a Satellite dish to your TV. If you have a Sky dish, you simply need to run an extra Cable from the LNB from the dish and connect to your socket on the back of your TV.
In order to get Freeview channels and Analogue channels, you need to connect a aerial to the back of the TV.
There is a menu option for the TV to start straight to the AV input (your Sky HD box). It is Menu > Setup > Other Settings > Power on Preference. Select 'AV' for your TV to start on Sky HD.
Also even if you have your TV to start on TV, when you turn on your Sky HD box, it should automatically switch to the Sky box.

SKY DIGIBOX 2nd RF frequency

your in luck, I work for sky as an Engineer.

Firstly go to the main telly where your sky box is.

Using the sky remote press the following buttons.
SERVICES
4
0,1,SELECT
go to RF
In this menu I would set the RF channel to 38 and turn the power ON and then down to save.

now leave it on the blue menu screen (sky menu)

go to the other room where you link from your sky box is connected to.
press the tv button on that remote and then select channel 6 on the remote

Then go into the menu for the tv and then to setup. go to MANUAL TUNE/SEARCH with most new tv you can scroll down to were it says C _ _ you can then input your channel number as 38 the same as you setup on your sky box.

Dont forget to save the settings and that should be you. You should be able to see the sky menu on the telly with the link on. (that is why I asked you to leave the sky menu on that way you know you havent just tuned it into your normal terrestrial channels.

The reason I told you to turn the power onto the link was so that you can purchase a Magic eye. This will allow you to turn your sky box over from the 2nd room without having to keeping going to the main tv to change over.

here is a link to a random site with a picture of a magic eye on. you can purchase these from many places or even Ebay. here is the link anyway.

hope this sort you out. If so please leave a thumbs up

I have just bought a samsung lcd tv with 1 scart socket. But I have a satellite box and an hdd recorder but I dont know how to connect it all up. Could anyone help. Thank you

Hello,

The Sky box should connect to the TV using it's TV Scart output.

The HDD recorder then connects to the SKY via the other Scart.

When you turn the HDD recorder on, the SKY box will automatically switch.

You need to put your normal antenna into the HDD recorder and tune it in.

When the Sky is off, you can use the HDD recorder for playback, you can also switch between the 2 when it is on with the Sky remote.

How do i set up my plasma tv just to watch sky on the tv i was given a tv pioneer pdp-42mve1 and have got the power lead and a lead with a scart and 6 push in leads coluers are green blue blackyellow red...

Hello Paul,
all you need to do is plug the power in, put the scart lead into the back of your Pioneer tv, the other end of your scart into the bottom scart of your sky box named TV.

you will also need to connect the sky cable to the box to receive your signal. its a F type connector ie it screws on.

The other cable you have with the 6 push in coloured leads they are Component cable and the red and white ones are Audio cables. You will not need these cable unless your sky box is a HD box then i would suggest you get a HDMI cable instead of using component (less cables showing) dont be fooled into buying gold plated HDMI cables as they do not make any difference to the picture Quality as the back of the sky box is alley and so is the telly. So please dont waste your money on that type of cable.

Hope this Helps

Connecting Sky TV to my projector

Which sky box do you have and which model projector. are you trying to use SCART or YUV or what.
Please describe the connector available on the sky box and the projector. if you dont know or they are not labeled nicely please refer to the chart in the link below and let me know what is on both boxes. I will do my best to reply with EXACTLY what cable you need and a good place to order it, US and UK.
Also let me know what distance you need to run.
