Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

The CPU fan may be faulty and not spinning freely.
If you had removed the heatsink off the CPU did you place new thermal grease/paste on the CPU before installing the heatsink back on the CPU?

Remove keyboard samsung np-r40

to get the keyboard out you do not have to remove any screws..yet ..just remove the fromt cover of the hinges and buttons..by inserting someting on the F1 buttons and open the snap click that are holding that lid in place ...after that see if there are any screws under it that are related with the keyboard...if there are ..remove them ..if not ..just insert somdething at the base(in the space key are ) ..like a fl;at screw driver ..and move a little the keyboard forward to the screen ..about one inch ..and than pop it up..from the snaps at the side..
here is a video about what Im talking ..

Hi..samsung r40 power jack ..how do i remove underside cover to gain acess??.. i have loosened all screws and still seems as if there are hidden screws..

hey, dc jacks are always a nightmare to replace, ie i guess you want to replace it, you actually need to remove the motherboard in the machine so you need to remove all screws on the bottom of the laptop, then remove the keyboard, and you will find more screws under there, and you will have to remove screen etc to gain access, ie everything needs to come apart to get into them. and once its apart you will have to unsoldier the old dc jack and resoldier on the new one, if you aint good at soldiering i wouldnt recommend doing it yourself.

If you are not sure what you are doing, it would be a lot better if you put it back together and called a pro to clean it for you, at least it will work when you get it back.

Bios battery location

On the R40, you will need to remove two things to get to the BIOS battery: 1) the regular battery, 2) the Keyboard. The BIOS battery is located just underneath the keyboard. In order to remove the keyboard you have to remove two screws from the bottom of the notebook (each will have a little picture of a keyboard and arrow next to it). Pop the keyboard up gently and the BIOS battery is just above the mouse buttons.

Check out the service manual for more details (pages 68, 77, 85).

Samsung cd/dvd drive

The first thing I try in this error is to remove the upper lower filters

If that doesn't resolve, then time to check cable connections and BIOS settings to ensure the drive is seen by the motherboard.
