First I would clean the evaporator and condensor with a cleaner and then I would check the thermostat to make sure it it working by using the schematic on the unit. Be careful if adding freon because these are critically charged units. sounds like they are just dirty and need cleaning.

I have a 2004 mini cooper. When I turn on the air conditioning system, the temperature gauge starts going up as though the engine is overheating. Now I can't use the airconditioning.

Check you engine cooling fans to ensure they are operating. Whenever you have the A/C on they MUST be running in order to provide proper A/C operation and to prevent engine overheating. This may not be happening and could be causing your problem.

the cheapest start to finding the problem would be the thermastat or if it has a electric fan sometimes they go out if you have airconditioning and it has leaked recently check between the raditor and the airconditioning cooler and see if your getting proper air flow or water pump

Airconditioning problem

I have the same problem. The can of freon I bought said the gage should read 45-55 psi with compressor running and ambient temp of 80 degrees. In any case 25 psi is too low for AC to function.

Town & Country 2007 LX model aircondition not working

It does have air conditioning installed. It may also have rear a/c. The rear a/c evaporator is probably leaking freon. I have replaced many rear evaporators on 2006 and 2007 Chrysler minivans as a result of a design change in 2006. Recharge the a/c and add dye to the system. If it has rear air, look behind the right rear wheel in the fender area under the car where the a/c lines go into the body.

I didn't completely understand the question but it sounds like you need to get the A/C recharged.
