I want to acsess my email account on my computer. usually did it on my Nokia phone.

Hi Mate,

If you use Gmail, it's possible to merge your accounts so all emails appear in one inbox, making it easier to stay on top of all your messages.
Simply open Google Mail, click the menu button, and then press 'Link Inboxes'. Then select the inboxes you want to link up, and your emails from those accounts will appear in one place.

Depending on the client you are using, the setup will be different, but normally you need the following settings.

Username: your complete email address
Password: the one you chose when you created your account
Incoming server: imap.one.com
Incoming server port: 993 + SSL
Outgoing server: send.one.com
Outgoing port: 587 + TLS/SSL/STARTTLS (or 465 + SSL/TLS)
Outgoing server authentication: username and password, same as the incoming server

I recommend using IMAP to set up your email account because it syncs your emails across all your devices and Webmail. Unlike POP, which downloads your emails and removes them from the server and Webmail.

If you really want to use POP, you need these settings for the incoming server: pop.one.com - port 995 - SSL.

Cheers!!

I added my hotmail account to live mail, but it isn't pulling any mail. Isn't this an email client?

hotmail is also an email client...but you need to change the settings for your pop or imap server!!!

  1. select pop3 as your incoming server.
  2. type "pop3.live.com" under the incoming pop or imap server.
  3. enter "smtp.live.com" under the outgoing smtp server.
  4. make sure the outgoing authentication check box is done.
  5. type your full hotmail email address under the email user name(e.g [email protected] or [email protected]).
  6. enter your hotmail password.
  7. make sure do not download email is not checked this time
  8. click finish and highlight the pop3.live.com account
  9. click properties and go to the advanced tab
  10. make sure this server requires a secure connection(ssl) is checked under both the incoming pop3 and outgoing smtp servers.
  11. type "585"under the outgoing server (smtp) and "995" under the incoming server.

Hi, For yahoo mail you need upgrade to yahoo mail plus (@ $19.99 per year) to get the full pop3 service for access to Outlook,Incredimail, Thunderbird and others.
For more info on setting up your pop3 account see the links below.
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/cl...

* Incoming Mail Server (POP3): plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL, port: 995
* Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication.

If you have “yahoo.co.uk” address some users can get free pop forwarding see below.
Click “options” (top right) on your mail page>mail options>pop and forwarding>
Set up or edit pop & forwarding>type in the address you want to forward to and
click save.
* Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Use SSL, port: 995
* Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smpt.mail.yahoo.co.uk

Note: In order to be able to send emails from outlook and others through/to yahoo (pop3) you need to pay for a yahoo mail plus account.

Incoming and outgoing identity

# Yahoo! Mail Settings

Unlike Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail offers standard POP3 access for receiving emails incoming through your Yahoo mailbox, by using your favorite email client software. To setup your email client for working with your Yahoo account, you need to select the POP3 protocol and use the following mail server settings:

Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 110)

Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 25)
