Slide control broken on Creative Zen

The plastic slide-lock switch's tab on the inside of the switch body is likely broken. If the lockout function is important to you, order a new switch unit from a door service company such as Overhead Door. Installation is DIY-simple.

Creative Zen should have a reset button on the side, it is a very small hole that you will need a pin to push the button inside, hold the button for about 30 seconds. This should reset the player.

For the lock error or if you happen to see an error message on screen saying system locked unable to shut down or you cannot shut down your unit and a picture of a lock appears near the batterry indicator on the left side of your screen - Simply move the lock button on top of the unit to the left onto the orange area and this will fix your problem. This slide button is located next to the lock picture located on the top of your unit.

Slide the unlock bar on the side of the mp3 player. It is on the left side of the player.

Most Creative zen mp3 players have a slide power on/off button, when slided completely back it sets the mp3 player on key block, maybe it's on key block.

Have you tried to remove the battery. If not, try this remove battery, see if that works. If removing battery doesn't work you may have to reset your player. First remove battery again, but before you put it back on, slide or hold your power on button, keep holding it down then insert battery. The load-up screen should come on asking to reboot, cleanup , or reload firmware. Just reboot and see what haps

In this case u will see a hold unhold or lock unlock button on the Mp3 player just slide it to unlock or unhold it should work........ Good Luck

It sounds like the hard drive is damaged I have a archos 605 wifi it froze up on me so i turned it off and turned it back on and it wouldn't load pass the archos welcome screen come to find out my hard drive was damaged.Hopfully yours is still under warranty otherwise you'll have to send it in and pay to get it fixed but i would say the hard drive is damaged.

slide the back off, take out the battery, put it back in while holding the power switch on. THis brings up the Recovery Menu, from where you have various options, formatting being but one.
