There are many driver issues with vista. You need to check your computer manufacturers website to see if there are any vista drivers available for the ethernet adapter. They may suggest visiting the site of the actual ethernet card manufacturer. Also visit the microsoft website, they may have an update to help with this issue. Best of luck -TLCM

You're going to want to travel to the website of the company that makes your computer, and click on their support section. Make sure that you know the model number of your computer, and then look for drivers for your particular model. They should have drivers for the ethernet adapter listed there for XP, and if the machine is new enough, for Vista as well.

If you update the post with the model of the computer you own, I could help you further in finding what you need. Most likely, the other components in your machine will need to have correct drivers downloaded as well.

You're either going to have to change some or all your hardware to Vista compatible, or uninstall vista and re-install XP. One of the bigger drawbacks to vista is its incompatiblity with a majority of older hardware. It's always a god idea to check to make sure if the new OS is going to be happy with your existing hardware.

Hi,

You cannot install this adapter in a Win 7 computer because the drivers are not compatible with Win 7.
So far Belkin haven't updated the drivers for win 7 OS. The latest drivers for this adapter is compatible only with

" Windows 98SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP 32-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit "

Click here to see the belkin compatible drivers in the website.

Inspiron 1525, says something wrong with network adaptor(s)

Are you on xp or vista?
I either case, visit windows update and make sure you have applied any optional hardware updates that are available for your system. There have been a lot of driver conflicts with vista, and even a new system can have older drivers installed on it.
(If xp, please try to work through this article, and possibly this one and this one, if they apply.)
If you're on vista, please work through this article and refer to this link and this link, and possibly this article as needed.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Ethernet controller driver on vgn-cr116e running xp

if your system is new and it was made for vista your probably not going to get it to work
try the download again if still does'nt work then i'm sorry to tell you but vista will need to be installed. There are ways around it but your ethernet will not work properly so if you really want xp you'll need to have the ethernet changed and possibly other things depending on the pc
it would'nt be worth it for you to change things in your system to be compatible with xp
please don't forget to rate me

Driver problem with vista

Unless there is an overly compelling reason to be using Vista roll back to XP, wait a few more months for the new drivers. Vista I'm sure has just been developed to keep mental health proffesionals in buisines. Failing that you can often "trick" XP drivers to work on Vista ocasionaly even got a few 2K ones to work.

Obviously hit them manufacturers web site. But don't be so sure. Had to abandon a printer because just no drivers for Vista.

Go back to XP - Vista offers nothing of significance over XP and with service packs is nice and stable - Vista at this point in time does not play nicely with others hardware or software.

Ethernet port

Hi
You'd need to buy an adapter such as this one. It's plug and play so no software would be required. There are cheaper ones available if you search for 'usb ethernet adaptor' but I chose that one as you can buy it directly from amazon. Obviously you will need a free usb port to make this work! I think tThe adaptor I suggested will only work with windows 2000, xp and vista.

Hope this helps.

I don't like VISTA!!!!!!!!!!!1

Ok, you need to put a new Op system on the computer, (I assume you want XP) If you have an older HP computer that came with XP on it, you probably already have the discs

Now keep in mind, you will probably have to go online and get the drivers for a lot of your hardware (modem/ethernet port, wireless card, maybe even your touch mouse)
