Hi what phone is the network on and also what network is the sim card if the phone is brand new and the sim card was in the box then what you might need to do is register the sim card first if you look in the book that tells you how to get started it will tell you how to register the sim card.
If the sim card still dont work then it means that sim card has not been used for 6 months as its new and still in box then the chances are the phone has been in storage for 6 months or more after 6 months the sim cards get switched off and another sim card will get that number.
But you will find this out by calling the number to register the sim card.
Let me know what network phone and sim are ok

If you have another sim card that your not using then go to the mall and ask the teller in the store for whatever company you have to switch the info from one sim to the other, you well still have the same number...... If you dont want to do it that way then simply call the phone company and ask them to onlock your sim....

I got a new w375 to replace my old 171 but the old sim won't work on the new phone. It just says sim reject. Damn, this is the same service provider and I have 300 minutes on both phones...man this sucks...I have to use the old phone until I run out. Anyone out there have any suggestions on this?

SOURCE: sim card rejected
this happen if there is some problem in the sim card holder port ....
there will be loose contact inside the sim card holder is not touching the circuit board inside due to this your sim card is getting rejected ...
as you have told that the phone is a brand new one so i am sure that you will be having the warranty so just make use of it by contact the dealer with whom you have purchased or contacting the company customer care number to get more information about how to make use of your warranty ......
if you dont have the warranty then you must open the handset
and just remove the circuit board & sim card holder and insert it again so that the sim card holder touches the circuit board correctly ...
after this refit the phone then surely your sim will be accepted ....
it is better to use of warranty if you have ......
this is a simple problem if you dont have the warranty also you can only fix it ..
if you just open the handset & set that sim card holder to touch the circuit board that s enough everything will be done and works fine ...
if you are afraid of opening then you must just contact the technician ...
it is just a matter of very little bucks if you contact him also ...
any doubts you can reply me
i am always here to assist you
