maybe a hardware problem, on booting the pc, move the screen to every angle to see if there is a connection problem. If so, then use your warranty if you have one.
It may not even be caused by the graphics display driver at all. Your Hard Drive may hae BAD SECTORS and the computer is battling to read the system area of the hard drive... Make alse sure that the hard drive commections are fine
The main two causes for this, are the inverter, which supplies the screen with the proper amount of power in order to function correctly, or the screen. If the inverter isn't puting out enough power it will cause the screen to darken or black out completely. Start by checking the screen connections. If all the connection are properly seated, the it's either the inverter or the screen it self.
