Hi asplayzone, this might be cause of a bad internet connection. Let me elaborate the CONS

The green LED light indicator on your laptop is that the router has data being sent / receive.

Since the avaya system and phones are dead, one of the serial port lights (SERIAL) or one of the Local Area Network (LAN) lights is OFF..

Although here is power on your router, the mere fact that you do not have the avaya system working, your Avaya must be reconfigured.
In other words, set your Avaya system to its original & default setting and synchronize it with your phone line. If in case your Avaya has been reset and the phones are still dead, you may contact your Telecommunications provider for that.

If in case phones are reconfigured and the avaya system still not working, you may check your Avaya manual for the proper IP addressing or better yet contact Avaya for IP cpmfiguration reset.

Afterwards, check your router if all the lights are lit, then try these command on your PC

start > all programs > accessories > command prompt

at the blank screen type ipconfig /all and hit ENTER

then check the autoconfiguration IP address..

then type PING x.x.x.x where x is the IP address

if there is a reply or not, contact your router manufacturer for the IP configuration of your router...

Excuse me but my english knowledge is not that good. Whatever... I`ve ´got an IP Office Small Office Edition. Suddenly at irregular intervals the IPO boots up. Even I can`t Communicate via the Manager to the IPO because the Manager can`t find the requested IP-Adress.

So I thought to myself let`s erase the Flash Configuration and safe a new one,but when I start the HyperTerminal with requested settings (38,400 Bits etc.) and press the ESC-Button twice, the following screen appears:

How do I turn the ringer off at my phone for external incoming calls?

Go into the extension programming and change the line settings to no ring. It is best done if you have a display phone so you can see the changes. If not, then you will need to look at the flashing line lights when you enter the programming mode.

Press Feature 00. This will take you into the programming mode. You should see the line buttons lit up green. They will be Solid (Immediate Ring) or Slow Flash (Delayed Ring) or Fast Flash (No Ring). I assume yours is solid so push each line button until it changes to a fast flash. Once done press Feature 00 to exit the system and save the settings.

I had a power interruption. I can not now access my voice mail (Partner VS Version 5) I get a busy signal. Calls do not go into voice mail. There is no LED lit on the module.

Try rebooting the phone system. Black power cord comes up on the right side. There is a switch there, turn off, count to 5 and turn back on.

Avaya Partner line always lit

If the line button is lit then something within the system has picked it up. If the phone is a multiline set, the line 1 light on the set that is using the line will show green. The line could also be held by either a cordless phone on the system or the voicemail system. The easiest way to clear the line (if the held set isn't apparent) would be to cycle down the power to the phone system for a moment. That will clear the line if its held by the voicemail

The display screen on my Avaya 8434DX isn't working. Any ideas?

check that the power brick is plugged in to a wall socket with power. The brick is gray and sits in between your phone and the phone socket. It inserts power for the display. ensure that the green LED is lit on the power brick and cables are plugged in properly. If the power brick is faulty contact your maintainer to get a replacement

Avaya 18D unable to make outgoing calls

Sounds like you changed your line selection. Changing line selection on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11.
At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
Next press the left hand intercom twice
The display should say system programming

Press the right hand intercom once. The display should say Centralized Programming.

Enter in the extension number that you want to program.

enter **
press the lit line in the order you want the to be used, i.e. line 2 then line 3 then line 4 etc.
enter ** when finished with line selection
.
Press feature "00" to logout
Hope that helps
