If you're asking for how to backup your files the easiest way is just to copy everything in your Documents (or My Documents) folder (depending on windows version). Then copy any thing else you may have saved outside the documents folder. There a number of free and commercial solutions for backing up if you want something more automated or "set-and-forget".

I have a IOMEGA 1TB hard drive, and I formatted It and it gives me only 92.7MB free out of 92.8 MB and not the full 1TB and I'm using on my PC windows 8 pro and It won't back up all my files what do I do?

I would connect drive and from dos prompt run diskpart. Make sure you have extended dos partition that has the entire drive space. You can type at the dos prompt: diskpart ? for help. Once you have partitioned the whole drive format it with NTFS.

I have a dell laptop and a HP desktop computer, and a 1TB Iomega external hard drive. THE PROBLEM..the video folders/files can be accessed on the laptop but not on the desktop ? the folders are empty

Hi,
it might be that the files are hidden and the option on the desktop to show hidden files is not enabled.. Try enabling hidden files and folders. Start--Control Panel--- Folder Options---View and then enable hidden files and folders.
Hope it helps,

I can't access my iomega 1TB desktop hard drive, it tells me to insert a removable disk when ever i click on it from My Computer

Hi.

Test the IOmega using a different computer. If it does the same the SATA connector to the hard drive, inside the closure may have slipped off.

If problem is computer, power off and disconnect power cord for ten minutes. If the computer is a laptop also remove main battery.
Disconnect hard disk, and connect everuthing back.
This will fix some USB related problem.

If that does not fi the problem, a system restore to a date before problem started may help.

I have an iomega exteranl hardrive whic i can access on my Mac laptop, but when i connect the drive to my my windows based laptop, it's not accessable

I not a big mac expert but it is probably to do with the way your portable drive is formatted. Windows pc's will recognize drives formatted as FAT32 or NTFS. Mac's will also recognize these formats. If the disk was originally formatted with a mac format like HFS is won't be recognisable to windows. Connect it to your mack and look for the Fike System Type. You could back up any files you have on the portabe device to your mac hard drive then format the drive on a windows machine. Start with a NTFS partition and see if your mac can read and write files to it. If not then try again with fa32. Once you have it going you can put your saved files back. Hope this helps. Let me know how you go.
