There are several reasons for this to happen.
You really need a meter to test the components with, to get the bottom of the problem.

Plugged filter or exhaust hose to outside could be clogged...Have someone turn the unit on and go out to see how much air is coming out of the vent. Should be a bunch. I'm guessing you have a blockage somewhere causing the unit to shut down and not catch on fire.

Hello
Thanks for your help but it neither of these problems.
It was the turning dial for selecting how long you want the heat on for.
the plasctic turning dial was broken and was not turning the timer properly so it would go for only a few seconds and cut off.

Two things to check.
Remove rear cover.
Remove large black hose onto drum
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Next--remove top cover and check the brushes in the motor, if they are less than 3 or 4 mm long, then replace them.

Thanks.

filter is located at the bottom rear of the appliance... if its pump obstruction then to lay the drain hose into a bowl is a means of getting the water out manually.. if its a blockage and water wont drain this way then lay the unit down on its R/H side (not soap dispenser side)....then acces to the filter can be made without flooding the place..best if 2 persons were to do this as the machine can be heavy when full with water and clothes.. best of luck..
