Open Question

How do I decipher air handler model # AWUF240516BA, serial #1002617593? Condensor model # GSZ130241AB, serial #1003505321? Sticker on equipment says Goodman. I am curious as to year manufactured, size, seer rating, etc. Thank you!

SOURCE: I need to know the seer number for an air handler. I'd

On the air handler take the top panel off, look to the left on the inside, this will give you general information on the unit on a stampede plate. This will
give you the date of manufactuer as well.

On the outdoor unit, there is a stamped plate on the
condensing unit. Should have year of manufactuer, it
should also say how many pounds of freon should be
in it. The Model number is what you need to know
to find out how big it is.

024=24,000 BTU= 2ton unit
030=30,000 BTU=2 1/2ton
036=36,000 BTU=3ton
040=40,000BTU= 3 1/2ton
and so on.

My guess is that it is an older unit and since I have
been installling units since 1995 I have only known
any older units to be at least a 10 SEER and no more.

SOURCE: I cannot find the seer rating or tonage of a

My books do not go back far enough to get you the Seer rating, it is a 5 ton unit and as the serial number shows it to be a 1999 model, it is probably a 10 SEER unit, maybe a 12 seer, but not likely, but I can tell you that it was manufactured on the 8th week of 1999.
I hope that I have helped, have a great day.
