Your previous drives may not work with Windows XP SP3. Its a common problem. Some hardware do not support it either. You have to download the latest drivers for your system. Make sure that you uninstall the drivers before proceed. Check for driver related problems using Device manager and Event Viewer. (Start -> Run type devmgmt.msc and hit enter to get device manager. type Eventvwr.msc to get event viewer. And check the System events)

Installed some new ram now audio bus and ethernet

What kind of system are you on? Some older computers BIOS will not support more than 1 or 2 gb ram. Check the specifications of your motherboard to ensure your BIOS can see that memory.

Hi Just installed a new Biostar MCP6P-M2 motherboard and cant the sound to work for the life of me.

I think you installed windows xp sp3, try re installing with windows xp sp2 because microsoft removed support for high definition audio in sp3 version of xp, if you dont want to re-install or you want to use sp3, download the high definition audio update (kb835221.exe).
