Kamel,
First of all you should know howmuch maxim RAM your board will support and which type of DIMM's it accepts. You can see on your motherboard manufacturer's site.

  1. Try each on in all slots one by one to verify all slots are well. if not try to clean and check again.
  2. If its ok then put both together and check out, if not then try to change the place and clean the contact point as well.

Thanks
Iqbal

HOW dO I aDD memory?

It really depends on what you have now. Go to crucial's site http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/ and use the scan computer tool and it will tell you how, if you can and the parts if possible.
Frankly this is the safest and surest way of doing this.

if the graphics or Ethernet is not working you can use an ad don card to make them work insert the graphics card in the prescribed slot and watch out which all slots you have graphics card are available in pciexp and agp for Ethernet card the slot is pci fix them and install the drivers as for the 2 GB showing GB it means the memory is sharing with the graphics card

I have an HP Media Center m7060n and am looking to upgrade from factory defaults to better RAM and a video card capable of gaming. Suggestions please?

Well your motherboard will take upto 4Gb of memory but the problem is that board does not have a AGP or a PCI Express slot to upgrade the graphics. You can get graphic cards which fit in a standard PCI slot but if youre looking at a top gaming computer i dont recommend this. You really need to do a complete upgrade including motherboard, CPU, Memory and a good PCI Express graphic card. But before doing this i would have a good chat with a few PC shops at how much they can put together a new custom made computer for you and that way the PC you have is still complete to either sell or keep as a second computer. Cheers from Scott and please vote

MY THIS QUESTION IS ONLY FOR CONCAKA

AGP stands for accellerated graphics port and is a slot for a AGP video card to be added. These cards can come with amounts of memory embedded in them up to 512meg and will only go into a computer with a AGP slot. these cards do not fall into the 2 gig motherboard limit. That limit refers to the system RAM, not the ram on the video card.
If you go to START- RUN -type "dxdiag" without the """" in the box. the direct x tool will tell you how much of that 2 gig limit is installed on your computer. at that point you will need to do therough math and figure out how much more memory you need to add to reach the 2 gig max.
Hope this helps you.. Regards..

I have abrand new Dell XPS 8100 with upgraded memory to 8mb and an ATI 5770 graphics card. When I start the computer I get 6 beeps and the PC does not start. Fitted a replacement Graphics card, still the...

Depending on the main board, 6 beeps usually signify's either a RAM issue (like a bad connection or incompatible ram) or an expansion slot issue so check any other cards you may have installed and make sure that The new RAM stick is compatible with the main board.. The main board model code is printed on the main board. Use it to search for audible fault codes, or go to www.upgrading and repairing computers.com and search for the beep codes for the main board on this site. Also, try reseating all the RAM sticks and expansion cards, especially graphics card..make sure you have not dislodged any data connectors and double check everything..

I need a list of compatible video cards that can be installed to upgrade the computer to make it run smoother and assist with games, I also need to know what processors can be installed in it ato upgr

I hope you realize the manufacturer recommends a maximum of 1GB of RAM in this system.

Since the system only has PCI slots, any kind of PCI video card should work without a problem.

"Call of Duty" runs in slow motion on my PC.

Hi thomas,

Upgrading video cards will definitely increase in performance. You asked whether you should upgrade your entire PC or just the card and that really depends on the hardware you are running. If all of your hardware just barely meets the requirements than upgrading the videocard WILL give you a noticeable improvement but obviously it will not be as good as getting a better CPU and more RAM as well as a new card.

A good measure of a cards performance is based on the series of cards it is from. Your Geforce is from the 6000 series of Nvidia cards, they have 7000, 8000, and even 9000 series cards atm.

I would recommend something like an XFX Geforce 9800 GTX+ series card with 512MB of onboard memory, or any other competing card in the 200$ price range. This will definitely give you an increase in performance, and is a very popular card.

Hope this helps and please take a second to rate!
