Hi,
I suggest you to look for the device manager in the computer [Start--->Start search--->type devmgmt.msc and hit the enter button on the keypad] and download the drivers online .
Or some computers come with the recovery manager utility that helps you burn the recovery partition on the disc, since this is again brand specific,it would be easier if you mention the make of the computer that you are using.
Thanks & Regards, techbuddy247

HOW CAN I RECOVER MY MICROSOFT WINDOWS VISTA HOME BASIC EDITION OPERATING SYSTEM?

If you purchased a computer with an installation of Microsoft Vista you would normally have a recovery partition. On restart continually press F8 to go to the advanced boot options menu and choose Repair your computer. If it would ask for language preference choose it. Then if it would ask for administrative access go ahead and login. On the next menu choose the image restore for your system. If you have a dell it would be Dell Factory Image Restore. It would depend on the brand.

If you installed vista separately. You would need to boot up your Vista Home Basic Disc. Place the disc in the drive and restart. It would normally load your disc if it is set as primary boot. If it did not enter the BIOS then change your boot sequence to start with the Optical Drive first or you could press the key for boot selection. some would press F10 or F11 for that, but you can find it when you boot up your computer. It would be stated on the starting sequence or the bios splash. Press that key and choose your Optical drive/CD/DVD drive. Then follow the instructions on reinstalling your Vista Home Basic.

Windows xp has been installed over windows vista home basic. How can I recover vista and delete xp?.

I hate to tell you this but your only option may be to take out both programs and then put vista back in. If you haven't already, you may want to back up all of your important data first before attempting this. Good luck.

I am betting that the instal disk that you have is not for VISTA(home basic) Download the VISTA driver and software then install printer with the downloads.

Error -need to re-install the operating system

Insert your Windows Vista Basic CD into the CD ROM drive and restart your computer.

It will autoboot from the CD and you can reinstall Vista Basic.

Should you have further problems don't hesitate to give more details.
