PIXMA MP780 "WRONG CARTRIDGE" MESSAGE?

By mistkae I bought 3E MYC installed and have been using them for about a month with no problems. Today the "WRONG CARTRIDGE" message started to flash and sheets feed through but nothing prints. I replaced the 3E MYC with 6MYC (all are OEMs), but it still says "WRONG CARTRIDGE" and does not show full tanks on the display. I have tried all the maintenance options...no luck. Is this a print head thing too? I use new BCI6 cartridges and have had no problems for over a year. I just replaced the "M" cartridge and the message started flashing, along with the "alarm" light. I removed all of the cartridges and replaced them, making sure they were all seated properly. No luck.

The reason for your problem may also be the following.
Pixma has an intelligent way of controlling each cartridge.
Each cartridge has a control chip that can be reset with this device
If you have an other set of cartridges or an old set of cartridges with some ink, try it out.
Try also unplugging printer from power, even if I do not think this will be enough to reset.
Probably you will need to reset the printer from service menu, as above.

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink or toner cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled (the absolute worst possible choice) or third party cartridges (2nd. Worst possible choice) that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks or toner causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead or photo conductors.
If you are using factory new ink or toner cartridges, then please call the manufacturer’s Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

It is probably one of the cartridges. Usually, when the message "wrong cartridge" appears, the cartridge is faulty.

Black will not print

This may seem obvious but have you tried cleaning and refreshing the print heads? I've had a similar problem with only certain colors and the cleaning seemed to help.
