Question about Seagate U6 (ST340810A) 40 GB Hard Drive
Are both the hard disk and circuit board will be put in the freezer?
Putting the hard drive in the freezer is an urban legend for reviving broken hard drives....in most cases it has only worked if the problem was a bad bearing on the drive hub. Freezing it would allow it to turn easy but only for a very short time, maybe enough time to retieve a few files if you were lucky. It does nothing for read/write head problems or bad sectors or corrupt files.
