Question about AOC CRT Monitor

Monitor What can i do to fix a problem with my monitor, it prompts a message "out of range".

This means that the signal from the computer can not be understood by the monitor. Have you changed the screen resolution recently? Try lowering the resolution. If you can not see the screen, boot the system in safe mode. That uses the lowest resolution and can be seen on all monitors and that should allow you to confirm that the monitor is working.

Check to make sure that closing the panel down does not cause the laptop to go into standby or suspend mode. In other words, are you sure that the video signals are not halted by the action of closing the panel down?

Out of range error


Out of range message means that the video resolution signal the monitor is receiving is not supported by the monitor. How do you hook up the DVD player to this monitor since it does not have composite ot component video inputs?

Upon startup a gray box appears reading "frequency out of range"how do i fix it? 95kHz / 120 Hz Please change it to 1280 x 1024 with 60. i have set the computer up with another monitor and it works just...


Reconnect the "other" monitor.
Right-mouse click anywhere on your desktop "wallpaper".
Click Properties.
Click Settings.
Move the slider to 800 by 600.
Click Advanced.
Click Monitor.
Change to 60 Hz.
Click OK.
Reconnect the LCD monitor.
It should display your desktop, at 800 by 600 by 60 Hz,
including that "Properties" page.
Move the slider to 1280 by 1024.
Click Apply.
If you can see the "prompt", click OK.
If you cannot see the "prompt", wait 15 seconds,
to revert to 800 by 600.
Slide to 1024 by 768, and click OK.

Out of Range message when I plugged it in


Find out the correct refresh rate and resolution for the monitor and set you graphics properties to match. I hope this helps.

You can try removing signal cable from pc.If it still says "Out of range" most probably main logic card or interface board as it is known in the lcd monitor could be defective.If on the other hand removing the signal cable gives message No signal ,cable not connected,try connecting monitor to another working known pc.If it still doesn't work the interface board in the monitor is defective.
