Question about Dell Dimension 5100 (D51L1) PC Desktop
On the bottom of your computer there is a service tag number.Not model # but service tag #.Please send me this number and I'll go get the driver for you.

I went to the dell website and searched for the Ethernet driver for that specific model. Here is the link to download that driver.
Once you have downloaded it just install it and restart your computer to confirm the installation. After that it should work fine. If it doesn't then uninstall the driver and reinstall it.

click start run then type cmd
a dos window should come up. Next type in ipconfig /all and see if you can ping 127.1.1.1 if its a yes then your ethernet is working then you will need to provide more details on how you are connecting online. ie. dsl/cable routers etc etc.
if no then you must be using the wrong drivers. pls provide more info on your hardware on the mobo.(motherboard) then i can help u more.
